Today is Neath Port Talbot Pride, and DUMPY BISCUIT is representing! As you'll see from the pictures, our Community Associate Yasmin Williams has been rubbing shoulders with NPT's finest, spreading the word about Holly Carpenter's play. Q***r identity is a big theme in DUMPY BISCUIT, as is the question of what it means to be different in a small town. That's why we're so grateful to be a part of this extremely important day for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Yasmin is from Port Talbot themselves, and they've been working tirelessly to engage with the local community for the show. There's so much more to tell you about what they've been up to, so stay tuned for that over the coming weeks.

It's time for another shout-out!

We want to say a MAHOOSIVE thank you to Nina Campbell, who have been volunteering their time this week to help build the Dumpy Biscuit set. Nina is a first-year Set Design & Production student at Carmarthen, and we genuinely couldn't have got this far without them.

This is yet another example of what a team effort Dumpy Biscuit has been, a show made with love and kindness and generosity. We can't wait to share that with you.

Last weekend It Together Festival, this weekend is NPT Pride Neath Port Talbot and in less than two weeks we are opening DUMPY BISCUIT 🍪

We had some visitors yesterday, as service users from homelessness charity The Wallich sat in on Dumpy Biscuit rehearsals! It's all part of The Other Room's ongoing relationship with , led by TOR Community Director Sam Alice Jones, and we're so glad we could marry that up with Sam's role as director on Dumpy Biscuit.

The Wallich is Wales' leading homelessness and rough sleeping charity, supporting more than 7000 people experiencing homelessness every year. We're so excited about the work we're doing with them, and there will be more to share in the weeks and months to come.

While interviewing for an Assistant Director, we found out that applicants Caz Renkes and Gbola Aina had never spent time in a professional rehearsal space. There was only one solution: we invited them to ours!! Here they are, the future of Welsh theatre, alongside Dumpy Biscuit Director Sam Alice Jones and Assistant Director Helen John.

The Other Room has always prided itself on offering opportunities to new and emerging artists, so we're delighted we could give these exciting young talents their first steps in the sector. Remember, you saw them here first!
