It’s easy to believe that midlife is about fulfilling everyone else’s needs—your family, career, or obligations. But this is your time to take control.
Midlife is a time of transformation, not crisis 🌟, and I hear from my friends and family, and see so many memes online, about people who don’t like their jobs, hate them in fact 😩. They are stuck, lost, and fearful for the future 😟, and yet they don’t seem to do anything about it.
"I don’t have purpose"
"I’m too old"
"Nobody wants to employ me"
"There aren’t any opportunities"
"The economy has taken a nosedive 📉"
"My boss hates me and never considers me for a promotion 🙄"
"The government is bringing in xyz policy now so I can’t possibly get a new job 🛑"
These external factors have nothing to do with whether you’re in midlife or whether you go for an opportunity or not. The real reason is fear! 😱
As soon as you put your little head above the parapet and look around at the possibilities 🌍, your subconscious mind goes, "No, we are not doing that, that’s impossible! Let’s stick to what we’ve always known; it’s too dangerous 🚨."
Your subconscious mind is only trying to protect you, because it can only go on the information you’ve been feeding it for years 🧠. If you’ve been feeding it stories of:
"I’m not good enough"
"I never have the time to do the things that I want ⏳"
“Nobody puts me first even though I do everything for everyone”
"I can’t do that, I’m working class"
"I have to have all my ducks in a row before I can even consider changing 🦆"
Then guess what? You’ll get more of the same—evidence of why these are true and why you should stay exactly where you are 😕.
But consciously, you don’t want that 🚫.
You want to put yourself first 💪,
You want to be in the best, most perfect job for you 💼,
You want the best, most ideal opportunities flying towards you left, right, and centre 💫,
You want to spring out of bed in the morning and look forward to your day 🌅,
You want ease and resilience, knowing that no matter what happens during your day, your mood won’t be affected 😌.

Yeah you can get up early, meditate, do exercise, write your gratitude lists, say affirmations, all the things that are going to get you into an amazing state for you to have a good day. And honestly these things are amazing, and it is something that I do and teach.
BUT they only paper over the cracks, and you might find that there will be things that still trigger the f**k out of you.
Like someone else having more career success or money than you.
The way someone spoke down to you at work and made you feel like sh*t.
The pressure of meeting a deadline
Being cut up in traffic.
The thought that your boss isn’t happy with your work.
All of these thoughts lead to stress and anxiety and they are deep seated.

My client came to me because she was so nervous before a job interview because of previous negative job interviews, and the fear of failure was taking over her thoughts.
Those thoughts of if i don’t get this job I’m not good enough, worthy enough and I will disappoint myself and my family were causing anxiety and panic.
After one session of subconscious healing, her nerves were gone and she was able to clearly see what she needed to do and how she needed to have a successful interview.

Just do it! Just get up and go for the promotion.
Just do it! Oh ok, I’ll just get over the years of conditioning, fear, and other issues that lurk beneath because you told me to just do it.
It’s not really helpful is it?! There’s no guidance, it dismisses underlying issues and it doesn’t take into account that life decisions are multifaceted and not as easy as just doing it.
In order to just do it, you’ll need to change habits, let go of fears and this means getting truthful with yourself. And one powerful question to ask yourself is deep down are you really, truly, ready for change and to let go of the past?
Now, you might be thinking as I once did, well, I don’t think there's anything in my past that is stopping me from moving forward.
Boy was I wrong. My healing journey has been messy and enlightening and has allowed me to confront and clear childhood issues such as emotional neglect, lack of support, poverty, and many many more that all led to an extremely stressed, anxious and miserable adult existence.
Subconscious healing helped me escape the chains of my limited thinking and take my life in a completely different direction.
The key to your empowered future lies in your past, and my guess is that if you’re not getting the career success you expected, you’re not fulfilled and your self-doubt always stops you from moving forward then your mental wellbeing is being affected. Therefore getting to the next level in your career, getting your dream job or going after that promotion is not as easy as just saying just do it.
But it is easily resolved with subconscious healing.

You are not going for that job interview your boss has told you, you will get, because of your mindset
If you’re not going for that promotion after telling yourself for months that you would or being told by your manager to then you’ve got some self-doubt/not good enoughinitus going on there my friend.
In order to move forward you need to heal the past, and a safe and quick way to do this is with subconscious healing.
Could be that in your childhood you came under harsh criticism from a teacher, who made you feel stupid, or siblings or parents no matter what you did shat all over your work, or things that meant a lot to you.
Then you didn’t feel safe and became nervous and anxious about putting yourself out there again, because they hurt you the last time, so they’ll probably do it again.
This event plays out in your adult life because the subconscious looks out for similarities and patterns so the subconscious mind goes, hang on this is a similar situation to what happened in 1988 when Mrs Roberts shouted at you because your maths homework was rubbish,
so then the subconscious mind goes into action and repeats the way that you reacted to it, which maybe to hide, or hold yourself back.
Unless you release that past event and rewire your subconscious it’s likely that you’re always going to get the same outcome.
So let’s release the past and let’s secure sustainable wellbeing, fulfillment and success.

I haven’t been feeling very well for the last couple of days, it all started Monday morning when I woke up feeling like I’d had a night on the pop (which I hadn’t) I felt so tired and dehydrated I could barely get out of bed.
My instant thought was,
There’s nothing wrong with you, you’re fine, you were ok yesterday (like that has anything to do with it)
The guilt sets in I can’t be ill I have things to do
I set about getting on with my day, going to Spanish class and sorting out my social media posts.
As the day went on I found myself struggling to keep my eyes open, really weak, uncomfortable sitting at my desk and not able to concentrate. The sore throat, snotty nose, banging headache and nausea were kicking in.
Eventually I had to say to myself Cath you’re obviously ill. Just rest.
This is all because firstly we’ve been conditioned to think that we are not supposed to be ill because of the way workplaces react to it
Or by saying you’re ill you’re making a fuss. Oooh musn’t make a fuss or take up space.
Secondly there’s some weird invisible badge of honour that comes with plowing through and carrying on.
I say F**K THAT SH*T.
Now on the other hand it has been quite hard for me to actually know when I’m actually ill because I spent most of my twenties and thirties living with so much anxiety and stress that I physically felt fatigued, like I had a cold. PERMANENTLY!!!
But that’s not the case now, because I’ve healed and done the deep subconscious work. Now my energy is through the roof, my body feels better, I hardly react to negative situations and my mental wellbeing is on top form.
So from now on when I’m ill I’m going to accept it and rest up accordingly. I’m gonna give myself a big old badge for that.
