The Fuzzy Beak

As many of you already know, unfortunately, The Fuzzy Beak Restaurant came to a very sudden, abrupt and unanticipated end. The Fuzzy Beak was only 19 months old, in a beautiful setting, located in a great catchment area, with increasing notoriety. While The Fuzzy Beak was a dream venture and a leap of faith, it was a leap based on a foundation of many years of experience in the hospitality industry. However, over the last few years and into the present moment, the hospitality industry has experienced a barrage of new and ever increasing challenges. Despite our best efforts, we could not overcome these obstacles.

Sadly, hospitality in Northern Ireland is struggling with a severe shortage of skilled, dedicated, and conscientious professionals within the industry. This makes it difficult, particularly for small businesses, to sustain long-term success. The abrupt closure of The Fuzzy Beak was ultimately due to this specific shortage. We explored every possible avenue to keep our doors open, however, it was simply unsustainable.

I understand the suddenness of this closure left many of you with questions, and I appreciate your patience as we navigated this difficult time. The Fuzzy Beak was never a conglomerate or chain, but rather, it was a small family venture through and through, and therefore the loss has been exceptionally hard, not just for me and my family, but also for the small number of dedicated staff who were faithful to the very end. I will miss you terribly.

As a small business owner we know it is crucial from time to time to step into the shoes of our customers every now and again, just to make sure everything is as it should be.

Today I browsed our online store just as a shopper would, but guess what I found!? 91 products! yes!! I honestly had to double take, because although we manufacture everything ourselves and pack everything ourselves we hadn't taken into account the number of products we actually have available which I feel is quite an achievement.

I am pleased to say that we can certainly offer variety and there is sure to be something there for everyone.
