It is with regret that I inform you all that Rachael White Sports & Remedial Massage is now closed.

I have been struggling over the last few months with arthritis in my hands and have been forced to take a step back in order for them to rest. I had hoped that this would give an opportunity to return back to massage but unfortunately this isn't mean to be.

I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting and treating so many of you over the last 9 years and would like to thank you all for making my business so successful and for all the support you have all given me, particularly in times of lockdown and during my husbands injury.

Please do keep in touch!

With much love always, Rach x

Each treatment will incur a £5 increase.

➡️ Back, neck and shoulder massage - £30
➡️ Full body massage - £55

There is no better time to treat yourself to a soothing massage than during pregnancy, an excellent way to support your adapting body throughout the second and third trimester. The treatment is specifically tailored to effectively ease any discomforts and bring tranquility to both you and your baby.

The benefits of pregnancy massage include:
* Promotes well being! It nutures the body when it needs it the most leaving you feeling relaxed.
*Dissolves any stress
*Relieves common pregnancy discomforts including back ache, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, leg cramps, oedema and siatica.
*Pregnancy also benefits your baby as well as you. When you are massaged your body will naturally secrete endorphins, which are known as feel good factors. These endorphins pass through the placenta and soothe and relax your baby too.
*Regular pre-natal massage can help prepare you for labour by making the pelvis more supple. It also creates an awareness in your body for relaxation.
*Improves circulation
*Eases neck, back and joint.pain
*Relieves muscle tension and cramps
*Promotes relaxation
*Raises endorphin levels
*Aids lympatic drainage
*Removes toxins
*Improves quality of sleep
*Reduces swelling/oedema on joints
*Regulates stress hormone

During pregnancy certain areas of muscular tension or discomfort may be felt as a result of change within the body. Pregnancy massage can help soothe these aches and pains and offers you as a mum to be some time to relax. Pregnancy massage is recommended after the first trimester and not before.

Full body massage: £50.00
Back, neck & shoulder massage: £25.00

👍🏻 True or 👎🏻 false?

Absolutely FALSE!

You may think of sports massage as something that elite and professional athletes need in order to keep up with their intense training programmes and to get them in tip top shape for upcoming competitions, matches or races. While sports massage is extremely beneficial in these situations, you definitely do not have to be a top athlete in order to benefit from sports massage and, despite what the name suggests, don't even need to do any sport.

Even if you don't do any form of sport or exercise, our everyday movements still put stresses on our body, which can, over time, lead to long-term issues. Many office workers, for example, who spend long hours every day sitting at a desk suffer from pain and stiffness in their neck, shoulders and lower back, which can become quite serious problems if left unchecked. Regular sports massage will help to ease the strain put on these areas of your body, reducing the risk of serious problems arising.

Sports massage will help your muscles, as well as your mind, to become more relaxed and loose, allowing them to move more freely and preventing them from becoming too tight and stiff. People who drive a lot as part of their job have similar problems and can benefit from sports massage in the same way. Anyone working in a physically demanding job where movements such as lifting and carrying heavy objects are regularly required can also benefit from regular sports massage to help counteract the stress put on their knee joints, lower back and shoulders.

So, as you can see, sports massage is not just for athletes at the top of their game. Regular sports massage can help to prevent and treat injury for anyone, no matter how active they are, improve recovery time and keep you feeling healthy and relaxed! To book your sports massage comment below or message for appointment availability.

Medical research has been carried out to show the benefits massage can have on mental health.
Today’s world is full of stress, worries, anxieties and life at a fast pace which can in turn have a huge impact on our mental health and well being.

Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health issues and can both have such huge negative impacts on day to day life. With research it has been shown that massage can have a positive impact on the symptoms of both depression and anxiety. This is due to a neurotransmitter and hormone balance.

In studies carried out at the university and Miami School of medicine researchers found a 30% increase of serotonin and dopamine levels of participants who underwent massage treatments. Teamed with a reduction in levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. Too much of this in our bodies over time can lead to increased muscular tension, headaches, stress, anxiety and depression. Touch is essential for our well being and emotional wellness. When we are touched our brains release feel good hormones such as serotonin, dopamine and also oxytocin.

Massage also lowers blood pressure and eases muscular tension helping your body physically and both mentally relax. By reducing stress levels within your body and creating a peaceful balance healthy sleep can also be promoted, which is also vital for good mental health. When we don’t get enough sleep symptoms of anxiety and depression can feel much harder to cope with as we can become to feel less emotionally resilient.

In order for you to switch off for your massage and feel the benefits it is vital for you to feel comfortable, which is why I always aim to ensure you feel at ease when having your massage treatments. To book yours please send me a message and create a space in your diary for some self care 🤍
