This year’s theme, Reclaiming Narratives, is a powerful reminder to challenge the stories that have overlooked Black achievements and to celebrate resilience, success, and empowerment in Black history and culture.
Reclaiming the narrative isn’t just a them for this month—it’s an ongoing call to action for us to honour, educate, and uplift one another by amplifying the stories that matter.
Today, we’re highlighting Olive Morris—a passionate advocate for equal rights and a strong believer in the power of education to uplift marginalized communities. Her legacy inspires us to bring diverse voices and histories into our classrooms every day.
💬 How are you reclaiming the narrative in your teaching? Let’s share and inspire!

🌍 Today is World Mental Health Day – a great reminder of why it’s so important to keep conversations about mental health open and ongoing. The more we talk about it, the more we help make it a normal part of everyday life – not a stigma. 💬
While we’ve made progress in recent years, there’s still work to be done. Work has such a big impact on our mental health – it can give us a sense of purpose, boost our self-worth, and connect us with others. But it can also bring stress and anxiety, and even worsen mental health conditions.
Here are some important stats to consider:
1. 15% of UK workers are estimated to have an existing mental health condition.
2. In 2022/23, 875,000 workers reported suffering from work-related stress, depression, and anxiety.
3. Mental health was the 5th most common reason for sickness absence in 2022.
While mental health challenges affect workers in every sector, today we’re putting the spotlight on teachers and educators. With the ongoing pressure of heavy workloads, curriculum changes, funding cuts, and wellbeing and behavioural challenges in students, the teaching profession has never been more demanding. This, combined with the teacher retention crisis, highlights the need for better support for teachers' wellbeing in the workplace.
👉 What’s your workplace doing to support mental health? We’d love to hear about the initiatives or actions making a real difference. Comment below 👇

Imagine a learning environment where collaboration thrives and competition takes a backseat. As Jiddu Krishnamurti reminds us, true growth begins when the focus shifts from winning to learning. What’s your take on creating such spaces for students? Share your thoughts in comments 👇
🎉 Feedback Friday – Black History Month! 🎉
This month, we celebrate Black History Month with the theme of Reclaiming Narratives. This theme isn’t just about revisiting history; it’s about taking ownership of the stories that define our culture, contributions, and identity. It’s a call to action for Black communities across the UK to step into the roles of storytellers, historians, and custodians of our heritage.
It’s an opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation, offering a fresh perspective on Black history that goes beyond the traditional focus on slavery and civil rights. At Bright Future Education, we celebrate Black excellence in all its forms. We’d love to hear your narrative – share your story in the comments below! 👇
Teaching is about inspiring change, and learning goes beyond facts—it’s about gaining true understanding. Reflecting on these words by William Arthur Ward today.
