☘️Facts about St Patrick’s Day☘️;
• St. Patrick was, in-fact, not Irish at all. He was kidnapped from Britain aged 16 & carried into slavery in Ireland.
• Folklore states you’re not visible to Leprechauns if you wear green! If you don’t wear green, they’ll see you & give you a rotten pinch. Hence people pinch those not wearing green on Paddy’s Day!
• St Patrick was later made the first bishop of Ireland. It is believed that he brought christianity to Ireland before returning to Britain.
• St Patrick used the 3 leaves of a clover to describe the concept of the holy trinity to people when explaining Christianity.
• The March 17th celebration started in 1631 when the Church established a Feast Day honoring St. Patrick!
• Whilst Christians wear Green, Protestants wear Orange to celebrate William Orange, the Protestant king who overthrew Roman Catholic King James the second 🇮🇪
