We’ve had last days of schools, first days of schools and everything in between!

FYI, I am back working in Chelmsford next week & have a couple of spaces in my Writtle Studio between

After that I’ll be saying goodbye to my lovely little studio & will be based in Chelmsford town centre with my friend .pmu.academy 🥰 on alternate weeks on:

Thanks all for bearing with me through these whirlwind last few months, it’s been all systems go since March in my personal life + springtime is always my busiest months for treatments too! I might be due all kinds of maintenance treatments but it’s all been worth it ✨

Swelling is expected after and will subside within a few hours - a day.

Lips typically heal within 3-5 days. For this time they should be kept dry (drink through a straw), out of the sun & free of any products. You can expect 1-2 days of dry flaking when you’ll use a small amount of Vitamin A&D ointment on them while they heal.

And that’s it! You’ll then have a softer colour by day 3-5. Wait 4-6 weeks for the skin to renew to see your true healed results, and then you get to wake up with fresh, healthy looking lips, that you can add some clear balm to for nourishment and shine & you’re good to go! 💋

I 🫶🏻 these brushed up brows on her! BUT they can easily be brushed over a little bit more if you like a more subtle lift.

Results of lamination lasts around 6 weeks (you just need to brush them into place each morning) Contrary to popular belief, your brows do not stay ‘stuck’ rigidly like this for 6 weeks.

Eyebrow lamination works by breaking down the bonds in the eyebrow hairs, allowing them to be reshaped and set in a new position. The chemical solution softens the hair, making it more flexible and easier to manipulate.

This process essentially restructures the hair follicle temporarily, giving the appearance of fuller, more groomed brows, which can also help to disguise sparse patches/gaps!

Paired with a tint & wax the results are 🤌🏻

I do love the versatility. Shading has a misconception of being bold & blocky. First off; The biggest difference between Hairstrokes & Shading - apart from the obvious - is that immediately after, strokes are truer to their healed result. On the contrast, with the pigments I use, my shading work looks a lot darker and bolder immediately after. Rest assured, it softens considerably once healed. Skin type dependent.

Over time filler can cause the lips to lose their natural border. You may feel they are lacking definition and so think that you need more filler - but actually the reason they’re lacking definition is lack of colour.

Permanent Makeup FAQ - How do you find the right permanent makeup artist for you? Here’s some tips on what to look for:-

- Diversity of results? Is it a one size fits all? Are all the shapes and styles exactly the same for everyone? Or can they adapt to their client and create something tailored to the individual?

- Diversity of clients? Can you see diverse skin types/ages? Can you see any of their clients who have similarities to you? Similar skin type/age/brow hair? It’s great to know somebody can create amazing results on a beautiful, young, 20 year old, but when we’re looking for the right artist for us, we want to see real results on somebody similar to us - so that we can relate, have confidence in the artist we choose, and know what we can expect.

- Healed results? Do they ever showcase how their permanent makeup treatments have healed? And examples of how they look over time?

- Editing? This may or may not be so easy for you to spot. Things to look for - can you see detail of the work itself? Or is it all blurry? Is it heavily contoured with makeup? Professional photoshop images are sadly prevalent in the industry at the moment, and you’ll spot them a mile off. Perfect, magazine worthy images, they are not real.

Hairstrokes will always blur out more so on more oil prone skin types. The drier the skin, the more crisp the strokes stay! So with oiler skins less is best.

However if the skin is very oily then shading is always a better option!

FLUFFY REALISM HAIR STROKES 🩷

When eyebrows start in line with the tear duct, it creates a harmonious and balanced appearance for the face. This positioning is more aesthetically pleasing because it aligns with natural facial proportions, enhances facial symmetry and can contribute to a more flattering and well-balanced overall look 😍

Another FAQ for you - How long does permanent make up take to heal?

This depends on the area treated, and on the individual. Some heal faster than others. Several factors can influence the body’s healing ability and rates - age, overall health, smoking, stress, sleep quality etc all play a part, which is why sometimes you’ll find you heal quicker or slower than others!

Because of this, I can’t give you an exact date on when your treatment area will begin to flake, or when it will be flake free, BUT as a general guide, you should allow the following healing time before any special events you might have coming up or anything that involves swimming. 5 days (for lips), 14 days (for brows and eyes)

How scabby/flaky brows will be varies based on the technique used as well as skin type. Oilier skin will have increased lymphatic fluid and scabbing. In terms of methods, shading causing more significant flaking compared to hairstrokes which is generally very minimal - more like dry skin.

Cleaning the area post-treatment is crucial, as it minimizes flaking, promotes faster healing, and enhances overall results.

Lips tend to scab a little more obviously but heal super fast so the process is done before you know it, showcasing those beautiful results within just a few days! 🤩
