With the countless public reviews flooding in now the Empire of Light's box office opening week has completed, we thought we'd share some of the compounding thoughts from the viewers.

"An Ode to the Craft of Cinema", "A Cinematic Masterpiece", "Oscar Potential" just to name a few of the headlines circulating. An overall score on IMDB of 6.8/10 for a Romantic Drama set in the 1980's, somewhat against the norm of cinema these days is a performance to be proud of.

Thrilled to see the technology of our lighting being utilised throughout the film. Full spectrum colour and flicker free lighting is, and will continue to be, an absolute game changer in the cinematography and filmmaking industry.

It is so easy to assume that the bigger the change positive or negative the bigger the impact but that isn’t always the case. I can always remember one of my sons teachers once saying that they couldn’t understand why he was dysregulated because there had been no major changes. It turned out that they had changed the lightbulbs in the classroom. That change might not be massive but for him it was.

I was reminded of this the other day when a new lightbulb was put in the landing light fitting. Everything changed. The stairs looked a different depth, the landing hallway looked somehow shallower and I am sure the acoustics have changed too but I am telling my brain that can’t be the case.

That one new lightbulb has changed my entire house in my brain.

We are so used to thinking about big changes and their impact on autism but my lightbulb moment for the weekend is focus on the small subtle ones too!
