The force says Darnell, 14, pictured below, was last seen in the Podsmead Road area of Gloucester on Wednesday morning and concerns are growing for his welfare.

Purple will be the colour of choice across two days in Gloucester next month when people remember a city woman who was a victim of knife crime. Hollie Gazzard was murdered when Asher Maslin killed her outside a salon in Southgate Street.

Nine years on from the event which rocked the city, a 27-foot hight statue highlighting the problems of knife crime is due to be unveiled outside Gloucester Cathedral this week. The Knife Angel will be seen outside the city’s prominent landmark on Wednesday.

It coincides with the anniversary of Hollie’s death and the charity set up in her memory is asking people to wear purple to remember her. Speaking ahead of the anniversary, her father, Nick, said: "There have been too many incidents over the years."
