Smoothing cellulite on thighs can be difficult. In short, cellulite is caused by a mix of skin structure, hormones, aging, genetics, and lifestyle.

We can help by reducing the fat cells in the area. Women have fat cells and connective tissue that is arranged vertically, making cellulite more likely. In men, a criss-cross pattern of tissue makes it less common. Cellulite appears when fat cells push through the connective tissue beneath the skin.
