Looking for some spring/summer makeup inspo?

If like me, you have brown eyes, navy blue is a great colour to make them pop, and a great alternative to black eyeliner for a softer finish.

Here I’ve kept the lids simple with just a dusting of bronzer and illuminatior and paired it with a navy mascara (which is actually an electric blue over black) to keep it looking fresh.

If you want any of the product breakdown just comment below 👇

Graphic liner is in my brief for Friday’s client, so I had a little play today with my work and set and macro blade liners for a longevity test on the lower lash line.

It’s a bit of an odd combo with my dog walking gear but you’ve got to be committed to the cause 😜

Microbladed effect natural looking brows for under £2! 👌

Most of my kit contains premium products, but I do try products of all price range - as I’ve mentioned before, my favourite eye pencil is actually one by

I’ve got all sorts of pomades, pencils and mascaras for brows but have been wanting to try a micro blade brow pen for a while. Loads of the reviews for products I looked at were showing issues with either too much product coming out making it difficult to apply, or the nib drying out after a few uses. So, when I saw one on for less than £2 I thought ‘why not?’; surely it couldn’t be worse than some of the reviews I was reading for the drug store/premium brands??

When the pen arrived and I swatched it I immediately thought it was going to go in the bin because I could barely see it, but had a go on my brows (which need a lot of help) and WOW, I was blown away!

It gives super fine natural strokes that blend so well will my brows I can’t actually tell which is which unless I look with a magnifying mirror/bright sunlight. It stays put all day with no blurring or smudging. I’ve been using it for three weeks now and it’s still applying as well as it did the first time I used it.

Hopefully you can see the details of the pen in the photo. I bought the shade brown grey for reference.

Autumn may well be here, but as long as I’ve still got my summer skin tone I’m holding on to my favourite summer makeup look: fresh faced with a pop of coral on the lip 😌

Ladies,

Got a tonne of makeup but not sure how to use it properly and/or not even sure it’s the right products for you?

Stuck in rut with your makeup but not sure how to adapt it?

Want to know how to bring out your best features?

If any of the above resonate, have you thought about booking a 121 makeup lesson?

I offer these appointments at mine (Cheltenham location) and they usually last 1.5 - 2 hours.

I don't have a specific schedule I follow as everyone's needs/requirements from a lesson differ, so I have a consultation at the start to establish what you want to take away from the session.

The sessions are very hands on. I will ask you to bring your own make up products and tools so I can help identify which might be right or wrong for you, and show how to use them correctly to achieve the look you want to achieve. I use anything else needed from my kit and make genuine recommendations (I am not affiliated with any makeup brands) where appropriate.

October/November is a great time to book in for a lesson as Black Friday (best deals on makeup purchases) is only round the corner.

When you’re stopping in, but in the mood for a wing 😉

For this soft winged liner I used my favourite scandaleyes waterproof kohl kajal and blended the edges with a brick brown eyeshadow.

Managed to get to store in time for the I was after today 🎉

Here I’m wearing the hydrating tinted moisturiser in shade 4 (I already had this from last year and absolutely love it so purchased another today), the luminous touch concealer in shade 2 (dupe for touché eclat), and the sweet blush in pink lace (which is a liquid and I’m wearing on my cheeks and lips, and used the remainder that was on my fingers on my eyelids.

If you’re lucky you may still be able to pick some up in your local store.

Happy bank holiday everybody!

I had a pretty free day today so I was having a play with my Eye Wand in Raven. I’m a big fan of these multi tasking wands but don’t tend to use this shade as much as others because it blends out pretty grey and I prefer warm tones on me.

I think when you hit late forties liquid liner can look too harsh but I do like a winged liner look so normally either use pencil behind my liquid or blend it slightly with shadow.

Today I tried using the wand for my flick and wanted to see if it held up or faded. It doesn’t give a deep black finish when applied as a liner so I also used my favourite pencil by right against the lash line (but not for the flick).

You can see how it wore after nearly 5 hours in the second pic.

I’ll need to try this a few more times for longer periods and in different circumstances (hot weather etc.) before I consider using it for bridal makeup that needs to last all day and night, but for normal wear it’s a ✅ from me!
