Sea Sunday - Catholic Bishops' Conference Every year churches around the world celebrate Sea Sunday. It is a day for people to come together to pray for seafarers and fishers.
☀️ ⛱ We still have some places left on our Summer Youth Retreat which takes place at the end of this month. It will take place in beautiful St David’s in Pembrokeshire from the 24th to 28th July and is open to 14 to 18 year-olds (Year 9 to 13 pupils). We believe it will be a more accessible opportunity, closer to home, and for a different group of young people. It will be a time of prayer, reflection and fun in a fantastic part of the world that is on our doorstep. ✝️

As we approach Father’s Day, this coming Sunday, I’d like to share a colleague’s reflection of his own experiences of Fatherhood in its many guises
Fatherhood: a gift to our world I am a parent and a grandparent: however, I have always felt slightly uncomfortable when Father’s Day comes around. I am never really sure what to do or expect. This is because there is a gap in my life. I grew up without either a positive or…

The Day of Prayer for Victims and Survivors of Abuse is observed on 30 April 2024. It is always marked on the Tuesday of the Fifth Week of Easter in England and Wales.
✝️ We pray for those who have come forward to speak of the abuse they have suffered, and for those who are not yet able to.
May the Spirit help us to offer a response that is rooted in the love of Christ and to be a community in which they can continue to feel believed and safe, as the search for truth and justice unfolds. God of justice and healing; Hear our prayer.
This year’s focus is on communities who have been directly affected by allegations or convictions related to abuse – especially, but not exclusively, within the Church. This may be associated with clergy, a teacher in a local school, a leader of a Catholic group or other person or group whose investigation or conviction is likely to affect the wider community.

Answering questions many have asked…
“Good Shepherd Sunday" takes its name from the Gospel of John in which Jesus describes himself as "The Good Shepherd". It is a time when the church invites us to think, pray and provide vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life with the specific intention that those called to serve God in these vocations should have that same care of people as shown by shepherds to their sheep and as Jesus to humanity.
