Last Wednesday the group went out for their social lunch to the Imperial Chinese in low fell, everyone had a great time 😊
Talk Money Week, at skills for work we have teamed up with Money & pensions service to take the taboo out of talking about money.
The group have discussed what is important to them to learn about their own finances and how this can benefit them when in employment.

Birtley Heritage Group Events Day
Birtley Heritage are holding an events day in Birtley Library on November 5th with an amazing exhibition!

Today the group made a bean chilli, served with homemade chips and garlic bread...p.s this was made with items from garden, how amazing!
We came across quite a BIG problem on our walk today 🐎
Yesterday the group continued discussions about how to stay safe online, we started a course "online sexual abuse and grooming", a very important topic!
Energy Efficiency Awareness
A huge thank you to the staff at Harras Bank Family Hub for making us so welcome at the open day last Wednesday.
We spoke to 55 individuals on the cost of running everyday appliances and how to read your energy bills.
Thank you to Northumbrian Water for supplying water kits to save energy and water that were given away on the day.
We had a free draw to win an Air Fryer, one of the lovely families from The Grove Pre-school were the lucky winners.

And that's a wrap...Garden clear up ready for the winter months ahead. The group are looking forward to starting something new on a Tuesday but we will be back in the Garden as soon as the weather starts to get a little warmer again 😊
Wellbeing walk yesterday, we spoke about how excellent walking is for both mind and body 🚶♀️
Before, during & after from today, using potatoes and herbs from our garden we made a delicious chive burger and chips
How to spot online scams...some group members have took part in an online event this morning that discussed different way to stay safe online aswel as spotting & reporting scammers
