Knot Half Bad
Macramé artist & teacher based in Chester, Cheshire! Watch this space for workshop updates.
brought a bright pop of orange to 🧡🧡🧡 made using only recycled or repurposed materials - an old curtain ring & t-shirt yarn, which is created using waste offcuts from the textile industry. I love working with this fibre, not only because it’s kind to the planet but it’s kind to my hands (no rope burn here!!). There’s also such a bold range of colours to choose from, so you can create stand-out pieces like this 😊
If you’re a fan, have a few more of this style available to purchase in 💛!!
P.s just one week left to apply for # # #
Knot Half Bad is 5 today 🎈
I bought myself five sunflowers to celebrate 🌻 and spent the day with two lovely friends & my pups 🐶 I’ve had a little trip down memory lane ➡️ including my first market, first workshop, covid workshops (including virtual!), wedding backdrop setups etc etc 😊
I have a whole bunch of thank yous to give. The biggest of course is to you - whether you follow me from afar, have purchased from me, have been to a workshop, or any combination of the 3… THANK YOU 🤩 I love this craft and would still be knotting away regardless, but getting to share it with you, teach it to you and/or create pieces for your homes makes such a difference! I’ve also been lucky enough to meet so many lovely people through this, many of whom I call friends, which I’ll always be so thankful for🩷
Thank you very much to everyone who has hosted my workshops including 🩷
And thank you to my wonderful friends & family who cheer on every small win, help me make all (any) decisions, drive me wherever I need to be and put up with my piles and piles of stock everywhere 😚😚😚
After an awful 2023, I’ve spent some time reevaluating what’s next for me.. and so I hope you’ll join me over on my newest passion project 💛 a brand new pop up shop coming this December, named after my beautiful Grandma who passed away last July. More details to come, but today seems like the right time to announce it ☺️
Here’s to the next 5!! 🤩
Managed to get a quick visit in to see House of Yellow on it’s opening weekend 😊💛 You’ll find a bunch of my plant hangers in there, alongside so many other fabulous pieces from other small businesses - the shop is full of so much colour!!
Loved creating this collection of plant hangers- I used t-shirt yarn, which comes from recycled textiles that would otherwise be discarded to landfill. I love how it results in stretchy chunky and colourful plant hangers, where no two will ever be the same due to the nature of the yarn. I’m hoping to experiment with making my own t-shirt yarn in the future! The hanging rings are repurposed curtain rings, so the whole collection has been made with minimising waste at the forefront, which I’m very proud of 😊
Ps. New workshop announcement tomorrow to my mailing list (let me know if you want to be added!) 👻
Found this in my camera roll the other day & couldn’t remember if I had ever shared it but I’m all for a diverse feed these days - and it definitely shows just how versatile macramé is. Huge wedding backdrop? Sure.
Kitchen roll holder?? No problem 🤟
Who else agrees my sister has hung her kitchen roll the wrong way 👀👀
Ps. Thank you thank you thank you for selling out both of my autumn leaves workshops 🌝🍁
Ps. Something very new and very exciting coming… 🎉🛍️ 💚 (annoying I know)
loooooove to see your pieces in your home 🧡 Mainly because it’s so nice to seeing them being loved as part of your home… but also because I’m so bloody useless at taking photos of my work 😅. I tend to make it - also without documenting lol - and then send it off to its new home. So i love getting a glimpse of where it ends up, like these snaps from of her gorgeous bedroom with her custom piece hanging pride of place 🧡
FULLY BOOKED

New hanging table in navy 3ply for the lovely 🐵 If you’ve followed me for a while you might remember when I first made these way back in 2020! I still had a few of these lovely bamboo trays, so when I got the opportunity to create something for this sunny spot in the cafe I wanted to make it count 😊 And it looks fabulous in the space (if I do say so myself) - a big thank you for the lovely response to this on my stories!!
Ginger Monkey have also offered me the opportunity to use their space to teach my workshops so expect some new date announcements very soon!! 🥳 If there is anything in particular you fancy learning then please do let me know 🫶
It’s that time of year again ☀️ My best friend always gives her macramé skirt a spot in her holiday suitcase, and always makes sure to take lovely photos for me 🥹 - and she’s wearing her macramé earrings too!! 💖💖
Side note - she was proposed to just a few hours after these photos 💍💖 Was it the skirt??? 🤔🤷🏻♀️

hello I am still alive & still knotting away!!
Admittedly not as much as I would like - my camera roll is full of paint colours, practicing poached eggs, charity shop finds and pretty things I want to buy but can’t afford… (an apt summary of life at the moment tbf) but instead I thought I would share photos from my last week in Cornwall where I came across some lovely macrame as well as heaps of gift shops full of small businesses :) so I’m feeling extra inspired ✨

Join me on Thursday 15th February at 7pm in Kookaburra Bakehouse, where I will guide you to create your own macramé plant hanger ... with a twist - an added disco ball 🪩 These were so popular at my markets last year, and I haven't been able to resist adding them to shelves, keyrings, Christmas baubles ... if I can, I will 😂 and seeing the sunlight dance across the room is always wonderful ✨
