Job Summary:-

Handling a portfolio of motor and non-motor claims across a variety of policy lines and industry sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities:-

The main focus of this role is to proactively manage a mixed portfolio of claims and to ensure that service is in line with client expectations. The right candidate will be expected to resolve claims in an efficient and professional manner whilst maintaining that all parties are kept abreast of developments throughout the claim process. Ideal candidates shall expect to work in a fast-paced environment will a team of qualified staff who are willing to support and assist.

• Overseeing and completing the process of new claims received.
• Adhering to Company Claims Handling Guidelines.
• Accurate recording of all claims on internal systems.
• Liaising with clients, insurers and third parties involved from acknowledgement to claims settlement.
• Reviewing and assessing complex claims whilst anticipating any potential issues/queries.
• Reviewing policy wordings following receipt of a claim in order to discuss policy responses with clients.
• Deciding on action required and liaising with insurers on appointing Loss Adjusters.
• Liaising accordingly with Third Parties.
• Highlighting any potential issues to Line Manager prior to discussing with Underwriters, answering complex questions from Underwriters quickly and accurately and negotiating with Underwriters, Solicitors, Loss Adjusters and clients on complex claims.
• Oversee the receiving of settlements of claims motor and non-motor, investigating any discrepancies that arise, producing accurate and quality correspondence, providing regular feedback to Line Managers.
• Ensure market / insurance / legislation and other technical knowledge is developed and maintained to enable efficient claims handling.
• Keeping business systems updated regularly and ensuring data held is 100% accurate at all times, to facilitate accurate claims reporting.

• Produce bespoke Claims Handling Guidelines for all clients with multiple policy portfolios.
• Production and release of monthly claims reports to clients and line management.
• Ad-Hoc general administration.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:-

It is essential that applicants have experience in handling claims, ideally across multiple lines of business.

Applicants must have strong IT skills and experience using Microsoft office on a regular basis. Experience using London Market claims systems (ECF, Xchanging) is desirable.

A minimum of Cert CII level membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute is required. Applicants who have partially completed the qualification will be considered.

• Organisational skills – ability to prioritise and work effectively to strict deadlines.
• Time management.
• Responsible attitude.
• Relationship management.
