University is busy, so babies are only getting finished few and far between at the moment, but just finished this little custom. Such a lovely kit; Estella by Cassie Brace 💛

Some little fine baby hairs. It has taken me a long time to start really getting the hang of this style but after a lot of work we are getting there 💛

Well…

I had the honour of painting this beautiful baby for a lovely friend of mine and I couldn’t be happier with the photos she just sent me! In my usual running around I didn’t get chance to take photos of him, but luckily Shell is better at it than me anyway 😉

This baby is the Nino sculpt by the insanely talented Chenza Dolls - he is sculpted to represent a baby born with dwarfism. Chenza specialises in sculpting babies born with different disabilities, and I admire her so much for that. Imagine being a child born with a specific condition and finally seeing a doll that represents you; one that celebrates your uniqueness and appreciates your beauty just as it is.

It took me a long time to paint this little guy and I hope I have done his incredible sculpting justice 💛

Never, ever will I stop feeling honoured and humbled to see reactions like this. This gorgeous girl opened a baby I made for her birthday today, and I cannot begin to tell you how big my heart smiled seeing a video of her reaction.

When I first began painting I always dreamed of moments like these - after pouring so much love into my work, seeing that reflected in somebody’s reaction really means the world to me.

Finally getting back into the swing of things and trying to paint more regularly again - it’s been a good while. The huge influx in the mass-produced fake reborn sculpts has been a huge reason for my lack of motivation to paint this year. It’s a sad thing to watch for sculptors and painters to see all of the counterfeits, and just how many people in the larger market are buying them instead of the real thing. SO much love, and care, and effort, and passion goes into creating these dolls, from the moment they are just a blob of clay in somebody’s hands to the moment they land on a painter’s table. Please think before you choose the cheaper, less ethical option. I can guarantee the quality won’t be even half as good. Invest in something that comes from somebody’s soul, not the cheap counterpart straight from a factory.

Hello everyone!

It’s been quite a long time since I posted on this page. Life has been busy, but I am still painting where I can. I really want to put in the effort to post my work on here again, I miss it. And who better to start with than this precious little guy, just finished today!

This little cutie has been created from a 3D scan of a baby with Down’s syndrome by Bountiful Baby, and painted by me. He is a cuddle baby, which means he has his vinyl head and a fully fabric body and limbs. He is extremely snuggly and pose-able. This little one was painted with Genesis Heat Set paints, and varnished with heat set matte varnish. His auburn painted hair has been textured and has a lovely shine. He will have a magnet for a dummy and will come home with a lovely box opening. I added a little heart-shaped birthmark to his ear.

I am really loving the growing diversity in these beautiful sculpts; it has been a true pleasure painting a baby with Down’s syndrome and I will definitely be painting more!

He is available for £200 plus postage.

Hello lovely people,

Apologies for the lack of posts over the past few months; life has been crazy and it’s been difficult finding time to paint, however I have just started getting back into it so will be posting more regularly soon.

This post is just to honour the months of work that went into this little love...before one of my ovens randomly malfunctioned and melted her 😫 It is a known necessity to replace your ovens fairly regularly in this art to ensure they don’t ruin any of your work. My ovens were almost ready to be replaced, but one didn’t quite fulfil its contract and broke early. This is something that has happened to most long-term artists, and I always felt very fortunate that it hadn’t happened to me in the years I’ve been painting so far. This is a little reminder from me to make sure any other artists replace their ovens on time, or (as I will be doing in future) slightly ahead of time!

I am absolutely gutted that this little one is the one that it happened to with me, after so much effort, time and love went into creating her. Obviously this isn’t the fault of who she belonged to, and the lovely lady has already been offered either having another baby painted or a full refund, but sometimes these things happen and we have to move on. Time for some new ovens...

Finally got around to finalising the Christmas photos of my third version of Maddie by Bonnie Brown. This little one was a custom and was sent out a while ago, ready to be put under the tree! 💛

It has been a very, very busy few days! I have been awake until between 6AM and 7AM to make sure I got the last three Christmas babies of this year finished and delivered in time for Christmas. Thankfully they were all picked up yesterday and I can take a few days to catch up on sleep now, haha.

I will be watermarking and posting the rest of their photos later today, but I just had to share a few of this grumpy kid 😆💛
