Wears #SMOs Areas of concern: Left side mid foot break. Crouch gait Worries about use of orthotics and whether they’ll slow her down. Wants to walk without sticks. Treatment. 💬Lots of conversation. Lots of information for the client and her parents. Information is king. AFOS - plantarflexed 7 degrees. Protective lining Anti valgus (pronation) Stiffened footplate Wide calf strap 📐Tuned with approximately 10degrees of tibial inclination. 💪🏻Walked with less effort and reduced crouch. 😁Update off mum “Thanks so much, O is very proud of her afos. She showed the physio and walked around the hall twice without any support!!!”

3D Printed AFO’s
**Paediatric Orthotics** 🤩Wow!! Here we have a 3D printed AFO...... 🙋‍♂️Designed by our orthotist Mark for a young child with Cerebral Palsy and hemiplegia to accommodate some heel tightness with a heel raise 👉An ankle strap has been added to reduce the collapse of the ankle and a Forefoot extension to halt Forefoot drift. 😎3D printing allows us to keep the same strength as a plastic AFO but to also be light weight, strong and thin to make fitting into footwear easier. ⚽️This one is for a Manchester united fan so has a red lining and footballs on the calf..... how awesome is that??!! *shared with parents consent* Luke had SDR surgery in 2017 and hamstring and calf lengthening in 2020 and used to walk very high on his toes and was unable to put his feet flat on the floor. Here is Luke in his turbo meds! He has had polypropylene AFO’s and hinged AFO’s but he is so active that I really needed something that can keep up with him. We decided to try in a pair of TurboMed Orthotics paediatric AFO’s with 8sole 3D printed orthotics to support his feet and ankles. The result…….. well the video speaks for itself.
