Well that was a long day, 5am start delivering a MacIntosh sideboard up to Perth in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Tiring but wow does Scotland have sum dramatic scenery ✅. 12 hours and now ready to hit the pillow, ready for some more fabric shopping tomorrow. Vintage ottoman anyone😉

Let’s make things pop, as who needs beige in their life.
Just deciding what to do with this stunning vibrant velvet, but going to pop things on hold for a day or two as off to Perth in Scotland to deliver a beautiful croc 🐊 sideboard.

I hope this doesn’t mean the day is going to get worse 😬, dont quite know how I managed that 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Sometimes you start going one direction and the next you end up going a different direction, slightly different to my larger pieces. So this is the beautiful velvet crane fabric I ordered and now flipped into a pair of stunning table lamps.

I’m spending a bit of time on producing smaller pieces to go with my larger pieces of furniture. I’ll be keeping the maximalist theme going as life is too short for beige and who doesn’t love a wow factor.

So these lovelies are 40cm drums on recycled silver hammered metal bases and I don’t know about you but I’m blown away by them, Mrs James .compost has already started the subtle hints at wanting to keep them 😄
Anyway they’ll be up for sale on the usual sales platforms, priced at £160 for the pair, or £80 for the lampshades only.

This is one of two new hand made lamp shades I’ve finished tonight.
These beauties are finished in the luxurious velvet crane print and really have blown me away.
Mounted on refurbished hammered metal bases they really are stunning. The shades are 40cm drums so are pretty large and again I hope you like them.

A few more pictures of the Beautiful pair of Ercol 203 lounge chairs, stripped and ready for that new home. I personally have my own 203 and just love it, low slung and so comfortable, beautifully tactile beech handles that add a chic look to any mid century lovers home.

Well the year is drawing to a close and have to say I’ll be glad. I’ve slowed things down the last few months whilst I deal with some issues. Anyway finally finished a lovely pair of Ercol 203 easy lounge chairs. Really pleased how the cushions turned out and Laura worked really hard 🩷.
I’ve had these chairs for over 18 months and when I picked them up from North Wales they were in a sorry state. Both chairs had signs of historic superficial worm infestation which had been treated. Once I got hold of them they were retreated again and observed with no further issues. Sadly and as I’m sure the purist will note the painted legs? Well this is because gentle sanding exposed the old worm veins in the woods, this is were the larvae had bored. Unfortunately although solid and only superficial the damage when repaired didn’t look great, so I decided on a splash of colour and in all fairness I think they look lovely. The cushions were covered with a lovely aqua and teal velvet fabric. I chose the back scatter cushion instead of the traditional back cushion as how could you hide those beautiful beech spindles. Anyway hope you like and hope you all have a lovely Christmas

We all need a bit of darkness in our lives, especially when it’s as sexy as this late 1950s Librenza sideboard. From an aged when Audrey Hepburn epitomised beautiful chic 🍸 ♥️

Help me get that holiday tent 😌☺️😄😄😄

Few more pictures of the 1930s set of drawers. Stripped of old finishes was a lovely oak veneer, slightly marked so I dyed with a rich American walnut stain and then oiled and waxed. Drawer fronts stripped and finished in Frenchic Black Jack (kindly held on order by .home in Williston who hold a fabulous range of FC paints and finishes💕). The original handles were painted with the black Jack and then touched up with a golden gilding wax for a vintage distressed look. All in all she turned out beautifully for a piece nearly nearly 100yrs old.

So pleased with this lovely old set of vintage drawers, came out really lovely with a bit of a scrub and gilding wax, just looking for that new forever home 😊

Now sold and off to Manchester, if your interested I’ve one more Librenza unit ready for flipping 😀

Off to Tenerife for some well earned rest, me and Winter super excited and definitely in holiday mode 😄😄😄

Well that’s a wrap, last project and now at the airport off on our holidays. But I will stage this a bit better when I get back. Anyway I retained the original handles and mixed them up with blackjack mineral paint and gilding wax for a lovely aged look. The main body has had the damaged varnish removed and stained a deep American Walnut colour for a very grown up look. Enjoy your summer ✈️✈️✈️☀️☀️☀️

Well the next project is almost finished, but here’s a before picture. A lovely circa 1930s tall boy. Oak veneer and original handles, no significant damage or west just needs a little bit of tlc to shine again 😃
