As some of you will know, i had a pretty rough time bringing my daughter into the world, so my original time off has had to be extended.
I'm slowly starting to plan my return to work, so I'm opening a waiting list so I can get you all booked back in once I have a date.

I don't yet know exactly what my work routine will look like so early appointments may be as and when it suits us both.

Born at 11.59am on 20th July by emergency cesarean.
7lb 3oz and a head full of dark brown hair!

Sorry it's late posting! I've had a long stay in hospital, and we've spent the last few days at home ignoring the world and staring at our little girl 🩷

I'll keep you updated on my return to work, but my original plan of 6 weeks will definitely be longer now as I need time for my body to recover.

I'm feeling very strange leaving the salon as I've only ever taken time off for a short holiday, but extremely ready for a proper rest before my baby girl arrives. I know I'm leaving my business in good hands whilst I'm away, but I'm still going to miss it! 🥲

Can you imagine how annoyed you'd be if you went to work for the day, and then your boss said they weren't paying you?
You'd be pretty upset, and so are we, when we wait for you and you don't arrive.

No shows are just plain rude.

We're not monsters, we're not unreasonable, and we completely understand that sometimes emergencies happen, which means you can't make your appointment.
If your reason is genuine and you've never let us down before, chances are we won't ask for payment but if you just can't be bothered to let us know - expect to be charged.
And if you don't pay up - get ready to be named and shamed online.

If you think that's unfair - TOUGH!
What's unfair is that if you don't pay, our staff don't get paid and in turn can't pay me.
Not only have you wasted their time, you've wasted MY MONEY by keeping our electricity and heating on for you.

We've all got bills to pay, families to feed and businesses to keep afloat.
In an already difficult industry and the cost of living crisis looming over the world, I don't think it's too much to ask for you to be considerate and just let us know.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

With just 5 weeks to go until my due date, it's time to let you all know what's happening!

As many of you know, I am now starting to struggle with long days at work and providing some treatments and am more than ready for a break before baby girl arrives! 😴😴

Sophie will be finishing her massage course at college in the next 2 weeks and will be joining me on a permanent basis Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 6pm starting 3rd July.

My last working day will be Saturday 6th July and any appointments after that will be provided by Sophie.

Sophie is fully qualified to do all of the treatments on this list (and does a fantastic job at them too!) but as she is new to the job, her treatment times will be slightly longer than mine and at a reduced rate. *Please bear this in mind when booking other treatments on the same day.

If you have an appointment booked with me AFTER the 6th July and would prefer to still see me for that appointment, please get in touch ASAP so I can rearrange you, otherwise your appointment will stay booked in but you will see Sophie instead.

HOW TO BOOK!

I will, of course, keep you updated on the birth of baby Evell 💕 and on my return to work when I am ready, but I will not be answering calls or messages regarding appointments as I'm sure you'll understand I'd like to actually enjoy my maternity leave!
I'll be bobbing in and out of the salon from time to time, just to check in and say hello, but like I say, I won't be dealing with requests or appointments.

PAYMENTS

All beauty treatments whilst I am away will need to be paid in CASH ONLY. My card machine runs through my mobile phone so will be out of use whilst I'm away. Please bear this in mind when coming for your treatments and arrive prepared. There are cash machines nearby at Asda and Tesco. I apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

Good afternoon!
I'm not usually one for moaning, but I think this warrants it!

This, is what you get from the government for being a hard-working citizen all your adult life and paying into the system! Zero help on the one occasion you actually need it.

With this in mind, I will be un-cutting my hours at work and opening an extra day starting this week (TUESDAYS)

Please bear in mind that I am now heavily pregnant and not as speedy as usual, but I have now found myself in a position where I can not afford to take time off for Maternity leave.
I will now be working right up to my due date, so if I go into labour at your appointment, please keep calm for me 🥰

My previous plans for 6-8 weeks off after, will now be reduced to 4.

Appointments may run over slightly, so please accept my apologies now in advance! I will try to let you know in time, where possible, if I am running late.

I ask kindly, now more than ever, to please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment!

BABY UPDATE 👶

With just 10 weeks left to go until my due date (😳), I thought it was probably time for a little update!
Lots of you have been asking when I'm going off on maternity leave and when I'll be returning, and the honest answer is - I don't know!

In an ideal world, I'd like to work as close up to having her as possible and plan to take 6 weeks off before returning part-time.
That being said, I've got absolutely no idea how I'm going to feel as the last few weeks unfold and after giving birth so that time could extend or shorten, depending on circumstances.

At the moment, I have cut back my hours to half days as the long days i usually do are now becoming increasingly more difficult, so please be aware that appointments are limited!

I am in the process of training up two lovely ladies to take over whilst I am off having my little girl, so there will be someone here to do your treatments for you! 💕 Many of you will have already met Sophie, and I'll introduce Stacey in due course!

I am still taking bookings up until the end of the 2nd week of July with the understanding that you may get a text to say it won't be me doing your treatments, should anything happen sooner!

I have now reached a stage in my pregnancy where I am struggling with bending over for long periods, which unfortunately means I am no longer able to do full pedicures.

These, along with massages, will return once I am back from maternity leave 💕

I am trialling a new product for lash perming/lifting and brow lamination treatments.

I've been having a few issues with my current products and am no longer happy with the results we're getting from using it, so in the bin it goes and onto a new brand.

I've tried it on my own lashes this week and it's AMAZING 👐👐

HOWEVER, this means I need to re-patch test anyone who would like this service. (regardless of whether you've already had one for before!)
Patch testing is free and literally takes a minute. You can then make an appointment, provided you have no reaction to the test within 48 hours, and won't need another going forwards.

In all my years in the trade, I have never had anyone react badly to a patch test or product, but particularly around the eyes it is far better to be safe than sorry!
