Exciting news in our local area as we add another defibrillator to the map! 🗺️

Today, we completed the installation at McDonald’s J29a Markhamvale, who reached out to us for assistance with power and installation.

Three years ago, we were asked to install a defibrillator for someone, but the fundraising aspect didn't align with our values. As a company committed to making a difference, we now donate all materials and labor for defibrillator installations in our community.

Our small contribution has had a significant impact on the community, bringing us immense satisfaction. Having installed numerous defibrillators over the past 3 years, we are dedicated to continuing this service. Reach out to us if you need assistance in this area.

Today we have a team of engineers installing power for a defibrillator at our local McDonald’s at junction 29a M1 services

They reached out to us after they heard we supply materials and labour to install power to defibrillators in our local area free of charge

The team have raised the money to buy a defibrillators between them at the McDonald’s.

We are always determined to give back and support our local community in many ways.

After today we add another defibrillator install to our list and another one to the MAP!

Early morning start heading over to Van Fit Solutions in Middlesbrough.

We have 2 x vans getting a full internal fit out, all bespoke to our requirements.

This will ensure our engineers can support our customers nationwide effectively and efficiently. Can't wait to see them finished today.

First site visit of the day down in Lutterworth. A pre-start site meeting this morning for a valuable client, getting our engineers ready for electrical connections, testing, and certification tomorrow.

This week, our engineers are busy across the UK, working on installation projects in several sectors and areas, including Lutterworth, Didcot, Chesterfield, Leeds, Wakefield, Daventry, and Lichfield.

We are providing nationwide coverage for multiple clients this week.

What a week it’s been 🤯

It’s been an extremely busy week at Ben Wood Group, covering the whole UK from north to south on nationwide contracts. Our engineers have shown dedication supporting clients with new installations, reactive maintenance, and inspection and testing on large industrial sites.

Our customer client base within logistics distribution centers has grown significantly, from large distribution centers to chilled food stores and small distribution sites. We provide national support for multiple clients, ensuring their electrical needs are met seamlessly.

First site visit of the day ✔️

Today, I had the privilege of witnessing our engineers in action as they tackle the installation of a full segregated containment system around a Glass melting furnace. This project involves the intricate task of setting up lighting and low voltage cables, including cameras, amid challenging conditions.

In addition to the containment system, our team is working on implementing a high-temperature lighting system that will illuminate key areas such as walkways, the furnace's crown, forehearths, platforms, and the batch charger.

Working in the heat of summer and around a live melting furnace is no easy feat, but our dedicated engineers demonstrate resilience and commitment without a hint of complaint. They adhere to a strict schedule that includes resting periods and plans for hydration, showcasing their professionalism and unwavering focus on the task at hand.

While many would struggle in such demanding conditions, we are fortunate to have a team of reliable and dedicated engineers who rise to the challenge with determination and expertise.

Our engineer is starting a new installation and testing on a large logistics distribution site in Rotherham.

A new 32amp RCD socket is being installed for a new jet Wash, and a new Vehicle wash supply is being installed with full certification provided to our valuable client.

A quick site pre-start with my engineer and now onto my next meeting with another distribution logistics client.

A busy start to the week for all engineers at Ben Wood Group!

Today, our engineer in Coventry is testing and certifying the Electrics on a new Vehicle wash for a valuable client at a brand new DHL site.

Our team is also spread out across the UK, supporting various sectors in different areas such as Coventry, Avonmouth, Rotherham, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Magor, and Leeds.

It’s been a very busy week 🤯

Our engineers are hard at work down in Snodland and Southampton, upgrading distribution boards on a distribution warehouse site for a valuable client. Additionally, they are installing a new 32amp RCD TP socket for a new jet wash.

After completing the work, they will make their way back north to HQ to load up and prepare for Friday's job in Leeds.

With the resources and commitment we have, we are fully equipped to support our clients with national coverage.

This week, areas covered include Leeds, Knottingley, Nottingham, Wakefield, Chesterfield, Southampton, Bristol, Rotherham and London.

Afternoon site visits with Tim ✔️

Today, we're visiting a valuable client for additional works to be quoted. We've been awarded an upgrade project for distribution boards on a cold store distribution site starting in the next few weeks.

Our task now includes a proposed plan to install a new 400amp I-line, 250amp distribution boards, and new supplies to roller doors with a containment system.

Our company supports clients nationwide, tackling projects from high-temperature furnaces to cold store environments.

Exciting news as we have secured a contract from a valuable client for the installation of 3 phase RCD sockets and the upgrade of 3 phase distribution boards on a nationwide scale within the distribution network.

Our skilled engineers will be working across the country, from Scotland down to Southampton, in the coming months on various installations, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.

This project is a fantastic opportunity, and we extend a massive thanks to Tim, our dedicated project manager, for his unwavering support to the client from initial site surveys, through quoting, and now to project delivery.

Our electrical engineers are strategically positioned nationwide, enabling us to be proactive and efficient in handling such large-scale contracts.

Important ‼️

At our company, we've made a thoughtful decision to accommodate everyone's preferences. Not everyone is a football fan like me, so we offered our staff the choice to come in on Monday or take the day off with pay.

For those who choose to come in, they'll earn an extra day's holiday on their allowance. And for those who opt to stay home, they'll receive the day's pay without affecting their holiday balance. It's important to respect everyone's viewpoint, and the team's positive response to this flexibility has been truly heartening.

Our hardworking team truly deserves a break and the chance to unwind, be it this weekend or whenever they choose to take time off. Their dedication this year has been exceptional, and I'm immensely grateful for each and every one of them.

Project handed Over 🤝

Exciting news from our team as we successfully completed the handover of our second workshop electrical fit-out at the client's factory. The design and installation process went seamlessly, focusing on tailored solutions for storage and cleaning parts.

Key features of this project include:

- Installation of a new dedicated distribution board with surge protection
- Implementation of 4” trunking around the perimeter for future circuits
- Setup of full emergency lighting and LED lighting systems
- Provision of 415v & 230v sockets for versatile usage

At our company, quality always takes precedence. While we prioritize quality over quantity and may not offer the lowest prices, our installations are synonymous with excellence, accompanied by unparalleled customer service.

Looking forward, a lighting survey is on the horizon for my next site visit. Anticipation is high for the exciting challenges that lie ahead!

New project started ✔️⚡️

A team of engineers have commenced another workshop electrical fit-out for our client.

This includes full new containment, distribution boards, LED lighting, emergency lighting, and 3ph power.

The setup is tailored to our customer's specifications and will be utilized by IS engineer teams for storage and cleaning areas. Can't wait to see this one finished 😎

During this period, we initiated our second glass factory rebuild project, onboarded new clients, and provided comprehensive support across the UK for installations, maintenance, and call-outs. The progress has been astounding!

This tool is a game-changer for our engineers, especially in environments like the food industry. It offers a safe and efficient solution:

It has been a pleasure supporting our clients as they transition into Electric with a range of projects.

Our dedicated engineers have been hard at work installing 16amp RCD sockets, preparing for the delivery of Electric fork trucks.

Exciting updates include a new 250amp supply along with a distribution board and a 300mm heavy-duty tray. All tray fabrication was done on-site, ensuring precision and quality throughout.

The attention to detail, including the fabrication of end stops, truly adds the perfect finishing touch to our work.

Our team of engineers just terminated a parallel 150mm 4 core SWA into an isolator for some motors. Despite the very tight space, they maneuvered the cable skillfully. Working with this type of cable isn't easy, but they have truly gone above and beyond.

We still have more 150mm & 120mm 4 core SWA to install and terminate this week, so stay tuned for updates.

What a week it has been for projects being secured 🤯

Ben wood group has been appointed Electrical Contractor for upgrading all LV distribution boards in a large logistics warehouse for one of UKs largest companies.

A detailed site report provided our client with a step-by-step plan for a smooth transition with minimal disruption.

Congratulations to project manager Tim for his hard work on this achievement.

We have Scott our senior testing engineer on our rebuild project now conducting all live testing as we transition and start to handover areas to our client.

Scott is a great asset to us at Ben Wood Group his knowledge within the industry is second to none, his testing ability and knowledge is some of the best I’ve seen. people say testing is easy but do they do it properly?

After this project is completed he will have tested over 500 circuits from 1.5mm cables to 300mm cables.

We have engineers currently terminating cables 50mm,120mm and 150mm SWA

It’s been a busy week and weekend for our engineers,

The team on our glass plant rebuild project have been working very hard and producing some quality work.

Our control room fit out is coming along nicely, containment installed and now on with wiring.

We will be installing supplies to all distribution boards, furnace control panels, IS Machine control panels, Flux line cooling panels, machine cooling panels within this control room.

Can’t wait to see all the cabling installed and dressed in, a false floor will hide all the cabling wich will be a shame 🤣
