Good morning! There have been some new followers recently so I’m going to reintroduce myself ☺️ My name’s Hollie & I started Esc Candles during lockdown after playing about with candle making to keep me busy. Turns out I enjoyed it and was pretty good at it, so I decided to create the business. There have been a lot of ups & downs along the way but I love it!
Anyways, a little bit about me: I’m originally from Essex but moved up north about 10 years ago and now live in Chesterfield. I have fibromyalgia & depression (amongst a whole host of other stuff) but I’m working hard on my mental health which will hopefully get me in a position to improve my physical health too. I’m 33, born in June and have a younger brother and sister. I have a bit of a thing for trainers & have a decent collection of Dunks & Jordans. I’ve had a crazy array of pets in the past including dart frogs, scorpions, snakes, tarantulas, praying mantids & geckos, to name a few. Currently don’t have any animals but I’m in the market for a Parrotlet if anyone can hook me up! If you have any questions, candle related or otherwise, just drop me a dm ☺️

Every photo is taken from a slightly different distance, at a slightly different angle, with a slightly different colour tint to it 😂 I hate photography so much, but until I’m in a position to pay someone else to do it I’m stuck with my sad little set up and an iPhone. BUT it means I do now have basic product pics on the website for candles & most melts, just the remaining melts & diffusers left to do.

Diffusers are all made & labelled up ready to go to . Just bundling up the reeds & then I’ll consider showering & putting proper clothes on before I take them down there 😂

I used to work for an insurance company from home and my computer was sat on this desk, within touching distance of my bed. I used to go to sleep at night seeing its standby light blinking at me, and I’d lay there dreading waking up and sitting back in that chair the next morning. My mental health was already down the pan, and that job pushed me over the edge. I packed it in & took some time for myself, and now when I look at my desk covered in candles and oils and scrap bits of paper I feel proud, excited and curious. I’ve still got a hell of a long way to go, but at least I’m now looking where I’m going rather than back over my shoulder.
