BIG NEWS!

Our founder Carl Beech has long been saying that he will be transitioning from CEO to Exec Chairman, handing over the day to day leadership to a new CEO.

We’re more than a little excited to announce that Karen Tullett has been appointed as CEO by the trustees of Edge and has now started in the role!

Carl continues to be part of the Edge Faith Community in Chesterfield where they operate four Edge Centres. He will be overseeing the vision of Edge nationally and internationally as we continue to build a network of centres and provide guidance and mentoring to Karen and the senior leadership team.

Karen says; “I love the vision of Edge and everything Carl has built so far. I’m excited to receive the baton of leadership and continue to grow the work as we give it our best shot to bring the hope and help of Jesus to the most forgotten communities across the UK.”

Carl says; “I’ve known Karen for over 30 years! In fact I first met her when she was in my youth group in the 1990’s. The journey she has been on, and her unique gifting and heart for the poor set her apart. I can think of no finer leader to carry the work of Edge forwards and work with me in the years ahead as we continue to reach the most hurting and broken with the gospel in the UK and internationally.

Please do pray for Karen and Carl as they settle into their new roles.

Thinking back to when Steve Legg last came to visit us at Staveley Edge Centre, he wowed us with his tricks, amused us with his jokes, and wooed us with the gospel.

Please see the comments below for a link to an article written by Beechy where he celebrates, honours, and remembers our great mate, Steve.

Some words from Beechy to honour and remember our good mate Steve Legg...

Our love and prayers are with Bekah and the Legg family 🤍

Steve Legg (1967-2024): The comedian who covered one million miles for the gospel Steve Legg was a comedian, magician, author, broadcaster, magazine editor and speaker. But above all else, he loved telling people about Jesus. Carl Beech pays tribute to a man who was the same on and off the stage, and who never stopped laughing or inspiring others

As we head towards another bleak winter our Edge Centres are facing overwhelming demand and as it stands we are unable to meet them.

Our Edge Centres are beacons of hope and help in some of the most deprived communities in the UK. We run projects and interventions that give practical help to all who come to us. Our Staveley Centre alone has around 1000 people through the doors a month accessing all kinds of practical help and advice We have far too many projects to list here.

We’re bracing ourselves tho. The bills we face are crazy high. We need help to help the most broken of us.

Thanks all.

From our CEO Carl Beech

Having been with Steve Double and Anne Double yesterday I had learned that the incredible evangelist Don Double was coming near to the end of his time on earth.

I heard the sad news of his passing this morning as I was heading home from a road trip where I had been communicating the message of Jesus.

Both of these things are poignant and caused me to reflect for a moment.

Many thousands of lives were profoundly impacted by Don. I’m one of them.

Some years ago he decided that I was the person he wanted to hand his charity to. “To do whatever you feel you are called to do.” That was the seed funding for Edge Ministries.

More will be written in due course - but Don was a pioneer of much that we see today such as camps, festivals, missions. He truly paved the way and often to very unreached communities. Something that I’m somewhat passionate about.

I first met him some years previously at the GNC camp after a rather bizarre set of circumstances during with I met Steve, who rapidly became one of my closest mates.

Well done good and faithful servant.

See you soon.

RIP Don Double

Fantastic evening in Ballarat with our CEO Carl Beech speaking to the men about resilience.

Specifically how his personal faith has made all the difference along with forgiveness, gratitude, hope and so on in the face of brutal trauma and bad health news.

Many chats after with guys who were profoundly moved.

Our CEO Carl Beech and Ops Director Steve Cvm have just finished helping to host and speak at a fantastic conference at Mt Tamborine Conference Centre.

On Monday they head from Queensland to Victoria where Carl will be communicating gospel at events through the week.

Next weekend they host and speak at a weekend conference in Melbourne. Then there’s one last event next Monday before they fly back.

Please keep them and the events in your prayers.
