Monday the 16th of January is the most miserable day of the year, allegedly. So the tea rooms, in conjunction with vicar lane are offering a free tea or filter coffee to anyone who visits and spends a minimum of £5 in any shop on the centre. These are to takeaways unless added to a food order. Other Terms and conditions apply. See you Monday 😊

The best thing about winter is the comfort food. Giant Yorkshire pudding filled with home made beef stew and roast potatoes. Get in me belly 😋.

It’s very quiet for hospitality at this time of year. So even if you just want to pop in for coffee, we would love to see you. And I need to keep the staff busy or they get up to mischief 😂😂.

Due to the increase in all of our costs, we are making some slight changes to our opening hours. We will still be here to serve you 7 days a week, but will close a little earlier which is actually our quieter time. I have just won two tickets to sleeping beauty for this Thursday at 7.00pm. As I’ve already arranged to go this year, I’d like to auction them with the proceeds going to the “just can it” food bank, which is to help families throughout this difficult time. These tickets would cost about £45 to buy so offers around that area would be greatly appreciated. Just comment with your bid. No pm’s please, and I will get the tickets to the winners. Good luck 😉

Would like to apologise to some of our customers today. Our chef took ill, and although I was able to jump in, it took a while to get things back on track. For those of you who waited patiently, thank you 😊. For those who didn’t have time and had a refund, I totally understand and hope it hasn’t put you off trying us again. Unfortunately sometimes things are out of our control. Sorry again and be assured we are back to our usual selves 😊. Just waiting for the trip advisor reviews now 😳😂

We will be staying open on Sunday the 20th November for the Christmas lights turn on. We will have a small menu including hot roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce cobs. Turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. Home made soup. As well as our hot chocolate, mulled wine and our usual drinks and cakes.

Now taking bookings for our Christmas afternoon tea. Available from the 20th November. They include Turkey and stuffing sandwiches with a cranberry pot. Pigs in blanket crisps. Home made mince pies and brandy or clotted cream. A slice of cake from the table. After 8 mints. Tea or filter coffee and a complimentary mulled wine. Also includes plastic free Christmas crackers.
