Well that’s week four complete at The Veterans Community Hub, thankyou for supporting us supporting you.
It’s time to introduce you to the third member of the team - AJ.
AJ has been with Standto for four years, he previously served in both the RAF ( he doesn’t talk about that much) before joining the REME. He specialises supporting Veterans who are struggling with loneliness and isolation, and thanks to all the work he has done he can offer advice and direction for those Veterans who require help with finance, housing, pensions, to name but a few. Pop down and have a chat.

Today our Veterans entered the climate zone of Buxton, at the start of our trail ride adventure to Ashbourne. A brew to combat the misting morning was followed with banter and chats which didn’t diminish throughout the day. At the turn around we visited the aptly named Tunnel Cafe and then onto the incline ( all be it slight ) back to Parsley Hay. Some Veterans weren’t quite saddle fit and will pay for it in the morning.
Great day and all made the 45km journey.
At the Veterans Community Hub we like to promote Veterans in the Community who have local businesses. Here are a few we have come across since we opened. Give them a look if they fit what you’re looking for .
If you are a local business on the same footing or are looking for Veteran to support you pop in and introduce yourself.
Wednesday is the day we take some of our Veterans out for a jolly good cycle ride in the beautiful Peak District ( some maybe over dressed , some can’t get away from wearing military kit) if you see us out give us a shout.

Wow and Wow again, another extremely busy week at The Veterans Community Hub in Chesterfield , time for some weekend RNR.
But first let’s introduce our second team member - the ever so important Office Mgr Trina, we couldn’t function without her skill set which is above most - organisation and enthusiasm is second to none when serving the community, she brings with her a wealth of experience from 13 yrs working in the recovery sector for Derbyshire Addiction Advice Service. She is the friendly voice at the end of the phone VIP Line (Veterans Information Point) and our Veteran facing community contact in the Hub.
Pop in see if we can help.
Have a great weekend.
We are open until 1900hrs this evening for those who are working on a day shift and fancy a brew, chat or a bit modelling
This week we have been supporting Road to Recovery projects Basic Cycle Maintenance course based at Edge Ministries - being conducted by Veterans to the wider recovery community - if you would like further information on this call into The Veteran Community Hub in Chesterfield . As we move from strength to strength at The Veterans Community Hub it is time to introduce members of the Team - this week we start at the top with O.I.C Jane, Jane has been with Standto since its inception, she has a history of working with Military Personnel throughout the UK on numerous stations/bases and camps , an experienced alcohol worker, Jane also has a passion and a wealth of knowledge to support Veterans as they progress on thier personal journey on civvy street .
She has been the driving force to bring this project forward to a group of Veterans who she believes deserve a space where they can feel safe and appreciated.
It looks like we might have open the RAF repair hanger this week at the Veterans Community Hub, although we have our RAF volunteer in tomorrow Chris, and he will be supported by AJ from the REME ( no big hammers though or GS screwdrivers )
