Our Story
Our Story
On 6th March 2020, the Loomba Group of companies took a step closer to delivering one of its core values “In the business of fashion, for the benefit of widows” by opening up their new charity shop along East Street in Chichester.
The Loomba Group has been involved in fashion since the 1960s, when Raj and Veena Loomba started selling hosiery on a market stall in Widnes, near Liverpool. During the 70s and 80s the business expanded into wholesale and began importing knitwear from the Far East. In 1981 the TIGI brand was acquired, followed by VIZ-A-VIZ in 1989 and the new brand ‘pennyplain’ was developed in-house in 2019. Over the years it has grown into a fashion business operating from over 600 sites across the UK and Ireland.
