🌿🌿 Establish a deeper connection to a calmer, more peaceful, aligned version of yourself.🌿🌿

On Saturday 2nd of July the LLC will be meeting bright and early at Ashling Park Estate for our very own mini retreat. Bring along your yoga mat and get ready to feel refreshed, rejuvenated and connected with that calmer, restored version of yourself.

You'll be greeted by myself and taken over to the 200 year old oak tree where we will get ourselves set up for a stunning 60 minute gentle yoga sequence. Breath work and meditation also pay a huge role in helping to realign the mind, body & soul so we'll be experimenting with this in amongst the vines.

Indulge in nature, enjoy the morning rays from the sun & fest on a delicious organic breakfast made of top quality local produce. The morning will be wrapped up with plenty of fresh juice, teas and coffees on the balcony over looking the vines.

Our amazing yoga teacher WELL with Samantha Samantha Hale will take us through a gentle 60 minute awakening flow where we'll begin to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Lapping up some morning sunlight, enjoying and connecting with nature before our delicious organic breakfast overlooking the vines.

🏖 Summer is coming 🏖

It's lovely to sip on smoothies to feel light, fresh and energised during the summer but be careful that they have some kind of protein in so that you're feeling fuller and satisfied for longer.
Protein also helps to stabilise blood sugars and balance your hormones so that you can feel your best!

When making a smoothie think about adding at least one of the following:

✔️ Plain/greek no sugar yogurt (full fat is best)
✔️ H**p seeds
✔️ Almond/nut butter
✔️ Flaxseeds
✔️ Kefir
✔️ Shaklee protein powder (french vanilla, rich choc,cafe late, strawberries & cream)

Sit in the sun and sip your smoothie to max up your vitamin D intake, arrrhhhh so good ❤

🤦‍♀️Sometimes in the mad rush juggling families, careers and household duties taking time for ourselves often feels like one more thing to add to our already exploding to do lists. Trust me I have been there! 🏃‍♀️Yesterday as I grabbed an apple to eat in my car for lunch, reserving "me time" wasn't even an afterthought, but as I journaled last night I realised I spent 10 minutes each morning checking my fb notifications before I've even properly got up- not good! Now I am going to make an effort to get out of bed and meditate for 15 minutes, workout, then check my phone. What are your moments when you realise you are not taking enough time for yourself? 💆‍♀️

The more nourished we feel the less likely it is that we'll wander off in search of a quick distraction in the form of food we're not even hungry for in the first place.
To feel nourished is to feel a sense of fulfillment whether that be physical through food and exercise to emotional through relationships and how we talk to ourselves and spiritual how we connect with our purpose and true selves.

Dedicating a little time to focus on all three may help you feel more energised as nourishing your body will help you sleep better, manage stress more calmly, connect with others more naturally and will positively affect hormones and bodily functions. It becomes a positive cycle. Quiet your mind, connect with others, create work boundaries and try out or go somewhere new!

Don't fixate on getting these all right at once. Just use it as a mindful guide to being you back in alignment.

✅Get adequate sleep 7-9hrs.
✅Sleep not only re-energises a tired body, it's also an important part of the body's natural detoxing process. Important sleep cycle hormones that help control appetite are released during deeper stages of sleep. The immune system is strengthened and primed for attack in a well rested body vs one deprived of sleep.
✅Eat more fresh whole foods & fewer foods that come in any kind of packet. (Eating foods cooked by you from scratch when possible).
✅Fuel your body with natural food to control blood sugar levels from spiking and crashing.
Exercise
✅30 minutes of exercise a day, (anything that moderately increases your heart rate) can change the chemical makeup of your brain.

🌟SUCCESS STORY 🌟

This super juggler works multiple jobs and felt the candle burning from both ends. She felt exhausted and struggled to stay awake during the day. Soleika felt like her motivation levels were slipping she said she had lost her mojo & any healthy eating habits had gone out of the window. Work would always come first and her health was starting to suffer. She also mentioned that she was addicted to sugar and she wanted to kick this. Her goals were to increase her energy levels so she could manage her multiple jobs better and get back into shape. At the end of the workshop she felt:

✅ Calmer
✅ More focused
✅ More in control of her busy schedule
✅ More resilient to stress

🌟Happy Self care Saturday! 🌟

In this photo I look like I am achieving a tranquil tree pose, but the truth is when this photo was taken I was living life at the speed of light out of a backpack in the Philippines. To maintain balance during my backpacking trips fitness was an essential way to ground myself so I had the energy to handle the constant stimulation of crowded hostels, long days as a tour guide, meeting new faces every day and doing it all over again. Today, as I open my email as a busy nutritionist I am reminded that at the heart of hustle there is a morning shaky tree pose.
