🚨Attention all weight loss warriors!🚨

Are you struggling with those pesky evening cravings? We know how hard it can be to resist the temptation of that bag of chips or pint of ice cream calling your name. But fear not, we've got some tips to help you power through those late-night temptations!

1️⃣ Stay hydrated! Sometimes our cravings are simply our body's way of telling us we're thirsty. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

2️⃣ Keep healthy snacks on hand! Stock up on fresh fruits, veggies, and nuts to snack on when those cravings hit.

3️⃣ Brush your teeth! It may sound odd, but brushing your teeth after dinner can signal to your brain that you're done eating for the night.

4️⃣ Get moving! Sometimes all it takes is a quick walk around the block to distract yourself from those cravings.

Like with diets, counting calories isn’t the best way to lose weight.
Yes they can work for some people but what happens when they don’t count calories?
Do you see yourself counting calories for the rest of your life?

1. Calories on packaging are wrong up to 20%. That in itself makes it hard to rely on them.

2. Calorie availability. Did you know a raw celery stick is around 6 calories but if you boil it in water it’s around 30 calories ? That idea makes it hard to be accurate when counting calories.

3. Each of us absorb calories uniquely and variably. Our gut bacteria can increase or decrease the calorie we absorb.

Why do they work for some people ? Simply because they are paying more attention to how much they eat and what they eat compared to before they counted calories.

So what’s a better way than dieting and counting calories ?

Learning about food so you don’t have to rely on method like diets and calorie counting.

- learn about what foods are supportive of your goals
- how different types of carbs affect your body?
- How choosing to eat whole food allow you to eat more food than ever before when wanting to lose weight?
- How you get tricked by processed food in wanting more food when you’re not hungry
- What types of full will keep you satisfied.
- Methods to control food intake, like portion sizing, understanding digestion and adapting it to the way we eat, learning to listen to our body cues.

This is the solution to never dieting again and being in control of your weight and your eating

Why diets don’t work for weight loss

If you’ve tried dieting most of your life and you’re still looking to lose weight there’s a good reason for it.

They don’t work. Yes you can lose weight with them for a bit but you’ll put weight on again when you stop.

1. They are not sustainable

Restriciting yourself and only eating specific foods is not something you’ll be able to keep doing forever.

2. They don’t teach you about food

Apart from asking you blindly to follow their principles, at the end of the diet you haven’t learnt about what food to eat, how much, what they do to your body, how to manage emotional eating etc…

3. Some diets are based on old research that have now shown to be incorrect

Whole foods are foods that are rich in nutrients that will help you be healthier, look better and feel better by giving your body what it needs physiologically to function at its best (Vitamin, Minerals, Macronutrients...). And yes it includes fats and carbohydrates.

Whole foods are minimally processed foods. They will have less calories and less available calories to absorb than processed food. The more food is processed the more calorie they have, the more we absorb them and the less nutrients they have.

Think about apple juice versus apple. Apple juice is highly processed and spike our hormone insulin releasing a high quantity of sugar in our blood whereas an apple will not raise insulin the same way.

Because they haven’t been processed they are harder for our bodies to break down in energy. On top of being full of nutrients good for our health, when looking at it from a weight loss perspective it means we use more energy to break them down, we absorb less calories and we feel fuller.

How to recognise whole foods:

Whole foods are foods in their original format. Think about raw chicken over chicken kiev, an orange over orange juice. They haven’t been refined yet and you’ve got to cook them yourself.

When you go to the shop, if you take something that’s in a package look at the list of ingredient. Is there any that you don’t recognise leave it on the shelve it’s most likely not whole food.

Most of the time even after a few weeks of adding whole foods in your diet you’ll feel you have more energy and feel better and depending on each individuals that alone already helps losing weight.

Do you wish Personal Training was less of a luxury and more affordable?
Do you enjoy group exercise?
How nice would it be if you were to be coached in and out fitness classes to achieve your goals without having to re mortgage your house for personal training?

We are driven by the idea that a healthy lifestyle, achieving fitness goals and nutrition education/coaching should be accessible to everyone.
As right now everything is outrageously expensive, making living much more difficult we find it a shame that people may not be in a position to get the help they’d like to have to be healthier, lose weight and feel great.
And we’ve decided that we want to do something about that!
It’s clear to us that much more can be done to help you being healthy, give you the knowledge and confidence you need to achieve your goals whilst not breaking the bank.

So we are going to put weekly group workouts. The starting date will be the Saturday 8th April and it will be at Dream Fitness Selsey. You don’t need to be a member of the gym to attend. (Time will be confirmed in the next few weeks)

If you register your interest we’ll give you 4 weeks of free workouts and nutrition coaching. We’ll start gently with 1 workout a week. But in all honesty we want to offer you 4 to 5 workouts per week in the future. That way we know you’ll be successful and will get enough support from us.

We just need to see how interested you are and how many of you would come so we can find the most suitable hours for you and book all those spots in the gym.
