I attended a magical workshop today run by and .gibbs. We learnt about the traditional shamanic practices of the Q'ero people in Peru. Working with the sacred directions and the elemental forces of nature.

It was such an honour to spend the day with like-minded, beautiful individuals and to share the wonder of mama cacao.

So much gratitude for this blessed day 🙏 ✨️

I was really drawn to use this beautiful image today because it represents that each day is an opportunity to start a fresh. Whether our day has been challenging, mundane, or sad, tomorrow is another morning to wake up to fresh possibilities and experiences.

Today was day 1 of taking my ADHD medicine. Within the first hour my mind, body, and soul certainly knew about it. The morning I was high as a kite, by afternoon I was anxious as hell and then by evening back to being me. I'm actually OK about it. I was reluctant to go on medication because I prefer the natural way, but actually I've struggled for so long with lack of focus or hyper focus, poor memory, perfectionism, hyperactivity, restlessness and difficultly with regulating my emotions (especially anger, agitation and anxiety). So, I'm being open to the possibility of being medicated long term, and the fact that it will take time to adjust. Plus, I've masked my symptoms for so long that a little extra time thrown in surely can't hurt, can it?

Being has its challenges, but it also has its blessings, and I fully embrace the person I am. By wiping the slate clean, I feel I am breaking down the barriers that have held me back for so long. So much gratitude for the ongoing journey and to all the love and support along the way 🙏✨️

Day 7 of with using and focusing on the crown chakra.

Frankincense is a spiritual oil to me, and I always associate it with beloved Jesus. So, I lit some Frankincense insence and picked a beautiful card from my ✝️ I drew the peace card, calm center, calm mind. What a perfect card to choose right now after a week of wonderful self care.

I then made a frankincense and lavender face oil using a carrier oil (almond sweet oil), and added 5 drops of frankincense and 5 drops of lavender oil 🧡💜🙏✨️I then used this oil to do a blissful face massage on myself. Ultimate relaxation and peace created in this beautiful moment 👌🙏✨️

Day 6 of with the wonderful using and focusing on the brow chakra (third eye).

Wow, the scent of peppermint really captivates my senses and so uplifting to breathe in via the hands or a diffuser.

To enhance my practice, I created a crystal grid in the shape of the brow chakra, with the intention to expand my spiritual awareness through my third eye. I feel peppermint is a fantastic ally releasing any blockages and replenishing the area with pure, activated energy.

The crystals used are smoky quartz points for grounding, protection, and anchoring the healing (triangle). Ruby for distributing inner fire, increased energy, and willpower (circle). Mali garnet for new beginnings, hope, and connection to Mother Earth (outer ring). A spessarite garnet for creativity, and helping to achieve dreams (centre) 🙏✨️💜

Day 5 of with the wonderful focusing on and the throat chakra.

I absolutely adore the scent of lavender it completely relaxes me. I had a beautiful bath using dried lavender and essential oil 🪻💜 I was drawn to use amethyst alongside my bath, and after I applied a lavender roller to my temples.

I added lavender oil to my diffuser and relaxed with my dog brother to the lovely scent of lavender, just dreamy.

I also made a lavender serum using calendula infused oil, aloe vera, and lavender oil. Then, I made a lavender face scrub with coconut oil, dried lavender, and lavender essential oil 👌🪻💜

A wonderful day 4 of with focusing on the heart chakra, and 💙

This came at the right time. One of my car tyres was flat, and I had the stress of having to contact recovery to get it changed. I was able to follow a mantra and mala meditation whilst waiting, and it absolutely calmed me down. Connecting to my heart centre and focusing on love and peace enabled me to navigate through a challenging situation. I then came home and popped deep blue in my diffuser and placed some oil in my hands, and breathed the stress away.

I created a deep blue crystal layout with celestite to connect with the angelic realms. I also held rose quartz and adventurine, which corresponds with the heart chakra 💚

Day 3 of with using the glorious , sunshine in a bottle 🌞

I made a delicious rosemary and lemon tea with lemon oil 🍋 and did a solar plexus activation by doing some reflective journalling and massage (I used a calendula infused carrier oil with the lemon essential oil). A mixture of uplifting and relaxing.

Day 2 of with focusing on and the sacral chakra.

I created a beautiful crystal healing grid on an orange silk scarf with sakura agate, manderin garnet, sunstone skull, carnelian, mango quartz, orange calcite, and tangerine quartz. All orange crystals were selected to correspond with the sacral chakra and wild orange oil 🍊

Wild orange was added to my diffuser and a glorious cup of ceremonial cacao 🙏✨️

Lovely first day of online retreat with the wonderful 10 days of self care practice, using oils and other spiritual tools.

The oil used today was , which corresponds with the root chakra.

Lovely start to the day using alternative nostril breathing, followed by a gentle yoga nidra. It's definitely a wonderful way to promote balance in your day 🙏✨️

I was diagnosed with OCD and minor tourettes when I was 18. Today, I took the next step and have officially been diagnosed with ADHD.

Years of masking, adapting, and being judged (including by myself) have come to an end. I have clarity and understanding for the first time in a long time, and I am very proud of the person I am today. I have challenging days, but being neurodiverse (or neurospicy) makes me the unique individual I am today, and my sensitivity and compassion enable me to shine my light on the world.

I'm so grateful for the journey and life lessons, and I'm even more grateful for the love, support, and acceptance I receive from the people I love and who love me.

I introduced my friend to cacao this evening and she absolutely loved the taste smell and the experience she got from it. I used Spirit of the Valley cacao from .

To honour mama cacao I created a crystal grid in the shape of a medicine wheel. I was very drawn to use a red silk scarf as the base, possibly linking it to the root chakra by focusing on foundations and connectedness to the Earth. I also perceive the colour red as strength, courage, passion, warmth and security.

The crystals used are smoky quartz points for grounding and protecting. Clear quartz points for amplifying the energy. Spessartite garnet for creativity and achieving dreams. Mali garnet for new beginnings, hope, and connection to Mother Earth. Epidote for stability, connection to the divine and growth and development 🙏✨️

Last week was a bit of a challenging week for me, and emotionally, I felt very triggered. So, I focused on self care to help down regulate my nervous system and to restore a sense of inner peace.

Self care should be part of our daily routine because it can benefit our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing on all levels. It will restore balance and tap us back into alignment. Especially when life is stressful and challenging, even just 5 minutes can be enough to help you feel grounded and much calmer.

If you are someone who is neurodivergent like myself, self care practices can be a Godsend, helping to navigate through the overwhelm that life can sometimes bring on a daily basis.

Self care can represent itself in many ways. It can be anything from good nutrition, drinking plenty of water, getting plenty of sleep, to exercising.

Importantly, it should be enjoyable and something obtainable. It's about doing self care practices that resonate with you.

My self care practices include using crystals, being in nature, yoga, attending retreats, using essential oils, making natural products, being with animals, drinking cacao and herbal teas. There are many more.

Other examples include meditation, mindfulness, journaling, creative projects, tai chi, massage, reflexology, acupuncture, a soak in the bath, therapy......the list is endless.

What is your self care routine? Are you dedicating enough time to you? If not, see where you can take gradual steps each day or week to focus on self care.

There is a real joy in making your own natural beauty products. Nature never fails to amaze me, and my skin is never better when using these products, which contain dried herbs, infused oils, and essential oils. It is also so wonderful to make gifts to pass on to loved ones, like epsom salt bath soaks. It is surprising how quick it takes to make these products and how few ingredients are needed. Plus, very relaxing to do.

Self care takes many forms, and this is one of my favourite things to do.
