Chichester Priory Rotary held a Young Photographer Competition and presented the awards last evening. The photographs were judged by Simon Futcher, a local professional photographer, who commented on each entry giving advice and guidance. The photographs will be displayed in the Oxmarket Centre of Arts in Chichester for the next 14 days.

Our first Night at the Races turned out to be a great fun evening with happy smiling faces and excellent comeradery.

Had a good Christmas Party on Wednesday with entertaining harp player, good humour and all in good voice for the carols. Happy Christmas everyone.
Well.... it was wet.... wet wet wet .... but the Chichester Communities came and supported the Rotary Festival of Light magnificently and they came with their lanters and lit up the Streets of Chichester. Oakwood school sang so well again. TS Sturdy Band led the lantern parade to the tree all lit up looking really good and playing so well. Chichester Communitee Choir were outstanding and Chichester City Band were just so good. Canon Simon Holland gave a great message before he blessed the Rotary Tree of Goodwill. The community sang the carols with devotion and feeling. Young Harry Garrow of the Garrow family, who donated this year's tree to the community, waited for the countdown then pushed the sonic button to light the tree which stood proud in all its glory. The main street cross lights came on, almost symultaniosly with the tree lights, to the delight of everyone. Great, if very wet, evening well done everyone. More photos tomorrow.
Rotary Clubs of Chichester delivered and erected the Rotary Christmas Tree of Goodwill at Chichester Market Cross today. Tree being decorated on Thursday and our LANTERN LIGHT PROCESSION is on Saturday at 5.00pm with lights switchon at 5.30pm. COME JOIN OUR 'FESTVAL OF LIGHT' - Followed by Carol concert around the tree. Oakwood school are signing before switchon. Please come and join us.

ROTARY SUMMER FUN Saturday 31st August 10am til 1pm. Chichester Cathedral Green. Free family and children event with loads of games to play and events to take part in. Egg and spoon races, story teller, sack races, hook a duck, swing ball, table tennis, 4 in a row, badminton, trail, candy floss, chess, quoites, tin can alley, music and so much fun.
