Hit a weight loss plateau ?

Ever think you’ve been doing absolutely everything right yet somehow, you’re not losing weight?

Sound familiar?

Sometimes, without even knowing, we aren’t doing everything as well as we think we are.

❓Tracking everything you eat/drink? 🙄

❓Getting 7-9 hours sleep every night - even on the weekends ?🙄

❓Still being as active outside of your gym sessions? 🙄

I get it, losing weight can be tough

But by stopping the habits you’re created that have helped you lose some weight, isn’t going to help

The biggest mistake you can do is this…

Change everything ❌

By doing this, not only are you cancelling out all of the good things you’ve done,

But you’re having to start from scratch again.

It takes around 60 days for a new behaviour to become a habit

By changing everything and starting again, will mean finding new habits that you think will do you better.

Instead, take a week of reflection and be meticulous in terms of tracking or data collecting.

Make sure everything is on point.

If it’s not, then tweak one thing at a time here or there, and see how that goes for a few weeks.

Have you ever wondered why you’re not getting results, when you’ve done everything perfect for the last two days ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Could it be that you didn’t eat in a deficit 5 days in a row prior to then?

Or the fact you didn’t go to the gym last week?❌

Aiming to be perfect, is the quickest way to set yourself up for failure.

Instead, aim for consistency. 🔑

✅ Consistently put yourself in a calorie deficit

✅ Consistently make it to the gym each week

✅ Consistently make sure you get adequate rest

Doing the above, is much more effective than aiming to be perfect on 2 out of 7 days in the week.

The fundamentals of weight loss

Have you ever tried a “quick fix” approach to shifting a few pounds?

Let me guess, you achieved getting some weight off; but then put it back on?

Diving into fitness and thinking you have to eat bland “clean meals” and run for miles on the treadmill every day, is so far from the truth.

You’ll more than likely completely burn yourself out and get fed up of the food.

Keep things as simple as you can.

Move more than you have been, make better nutritional choices, eat more protein and get more sleep.

It can be as simple as that to get you moving in the right direction.

To start …

⭐️If you’re not in a calorie deficit, you will not lose weight. ⭐️

The easiest way to do this is through our diet 👌🏼

We need to manage the amount of calories we consume across the week and also our your daily activity levels.

99% of diets or popular fads work off the same principle - to put you in a deficit

If you’re gaining weight, you’re not in a deficit, you are simply more calories than you are burning 🔥

If your weight is being maintained, then you are burning the same as you are consuming

Being consistent over a long period of time; will enable you to drop body fat ✅

Are you working on bettering yourself?

This can be in many ways

⭐️ Aiming to be healthier

⭐️ Aiming to progress in work

⭐️ Working towards spending more time with your family and friends

⭐️ Working towards becoming fitter and stronger

All of these require you to become one thing…

Selfish!

It’s not a bad thing!

Being selfish with regards to bettering yourself; is needed for you to grow both physically and mentally.

If you’re not, and you’re still trying to juggle everything at once; you’ll probably not improve any of the points above.

But if you were to really push yourself and focus on bettering those aspects;

Your friends, family and YOU will benefit from this as, you’ll become a better version of yourself.

So start putting yourself first and work on you!

The truth about fat loss ⬇️

Fat Loss is Simple, Not Easy

Unfortunately it doesn’t always go to plan and isn’t necessarily linear.

In fact, it rarely ever is linear

If we are constantly losing weight then it probably isn’t a good sign.

Our body weight naturally fluctuates and that is down to many reasons including -

😴 Sleep
😖 Stress levels
💦Water intake
🗓Time of the month (females)

So instead of hoping for it to be perfect; set realistic expectations and accept that sometimes your weight may go up before it comes back down. 🔥

As long as you are being adherent and consistent to your plan, fat loss will be achieved…

Read it once, then read it again …

And no I’m not joking ❌

When we are looking at losing weight, we immediately switch our focus on eating less

This is normal, but it’s not always necessary

The majority of the times it’s through making poor food choices

If we switch our mindset and focus on what we are putting into our bodies

Rather than what we are not having, it will be a lot easier ⬇️

Try this -
“ I’m looking forward to my chicken wraps tonight” ✅

Instead of this -
“ Arghh I wish I was having pizza instead ” ❌

🔥The aim of the game = eat as much food as you like … whilst still losing weight🔥

It’s ok to slip up...

Slipping up is part of your journey

If you’re constantly doing things perfect;y, you probably aren’t actually pushing yourself enough

Making mistakes is part of life

don’t be put off by set backs

With fat loss, as long as we are ensuring that the scales ( or whatever markers we are using) are moving in the right direction over a realistic amount of time, is what really matters.

Losing weight or fat is never linear

we can’t constantly lose it from day to day or month to month

If we did, then we would be dead

So don’t get put off if your markers don’t always go don 100% of the time. Make your mistakes and bounce back from them.

Still on the fence with coaching 🤷🏻‍♂️⬇️

Personal training/ Online coaching isn’t necessarily about making someone vomit form over working ❌

But yes you’ll need to work hard, that’s a given

💥Dropping 15kg in 12 weeks is proof of that!💥

Coaching is more about guidance

Guidance with choosing the right exercise for you and the right nutritional approach ✅

Take Phil here, he didn’t know what to expect from a personal training session …

“I thought it would involve running like mad on the treadmill, doing lots of sit ups, holding the plank for endless minutes, or doing countless reps on various pieces of gym equipment until exhausted and drenched in sweat”

None of the above is what led us to achieve his result ❌

⭐️ Meet my amazing client Grace ⭐️

Prior to coming on board with myself Grace struggled with motivation and hadn’t eaten healthily or exercised for 5 years! 😮

She’d previously tried to stick to a regime but unfortunately they were short lived.👎🏼
