Happy Saturday - hope you get out and enjoy the penultimate day of the festival.
We almost can't believe it but the end of the festival is in sight 🥲 But the GOOD NEWS is that we are ending on a high note, quite literally, with the amazing Phoenix Big Band, Sunday evening from 8pm.
If you haven't heard a live big band in full swing you are in for a treat this Sunday. We are delighted to welcome back the hugely popular 18-piece Phoenix Big Band who will be closing out this year's festival with an energetic, uplifting and varied programme of the very best swing music from the 1940s and 50s.
Set up is a cabaret format with tables and, of course a dance floor. Dress up, pop on your dancing shoes and be entertained with music from Basie, Ellington, Miller, Sinatra and other giants of the big band era.
The sun will be shining so join us for a great end to an amazing five weeks 🫶🙌

Some wonderful words from two integral Festival of Chichester visionaries.
And just to finish the flurry of Facebooking.... I'd just like to say huge thanks to Kate Mosse Author, a dear friend to me personally but also to the festival...... she has been at the heart of the festival pretty much from the moment it was conceived. She and Greg Mosse have completely embraced what our great adventure is all about and have contributed imaginatively and brilliantly to every festival we have ever had. Therefore it was a huge pleasure when Kate interviewed me about my book Outrunning The Demons (Bloomsbury Publishing UK) at the Oxmarket Gallery on Thursday. Brilliant interviewing.... she made me think... and you can see the effort of me being forced to think in the pic below! (courtesy of David Ledain - Author). Kate has given a huge amount to this year's festival in terms of time and brilliance... and she will be in action again tonight in Chichester Cathedral when the Southdowns Concert Band will be joined by Walton Voices. Thank you, Kate. The Festival couldn't possibly wish for a finer friend! Phil
