Last week, John, one of our Black Belt instructors, went on a visit to while on his travels to Cardiff. CEA teaches BJJ, Judo, and MMA classes.

🚨RANDORI NIGHT🚨

But first, a huge congratulations to Martin for receiving his Black Belt!

In his own words, Martin said:

I'd never given judo it's credit, but after befriending 2 black belts, I started to see the benefits (ie, they'd dispatch of me fairly easily when we wrestled in the living room at home 😅)

I was previously a boxer, and what appealed to me about judo was that there was a gentle nature about it. You could protect yourself without the need to hurt another, even doing so compassionately. Turns out judo is an undiscovered gem in martial arts, so off I went to Chichester ronin with my shiny new white belt!

That was 2 years ago now, and I still feel there is so much to learn, which is exciting. I'm also looking forward to passing on some of the things I've learned and helping others in the club.

Well done Martin everyone at the club is hugely proud of you 🥋

We have a very special announcement! WE HAVE A NEW BLACK BELT AT THE CLUB!!!! 🥋 Many congratulations,

Ismail started his Judo journey just three and a half years ago!

Describing his start in Judo Ismail said:
My first achievement was 3rd place in the Junior Ukrainian Championship.
After that, I was competing on men Ukrainian championship.
After that, I took 1st place in the regional championship, where I got my blue belt.

When I came to UK and it was quite difficult to find a judo club in my area, but I found our Chichester Ronin club.
I decided that I wanted to get the brown belt, so I went to Priory school, which is on Fratton station, and I passed the theory and got my brown belt.

After 1 year I decided that I wanted to compete again because I had a very long break after my last competition.
So I had a grading competition where I got 100 points because I won a lineup( won 5 fights )
That’s it!

Ismail is a force on the mat, and here at Chichester Ronin Judo, we are all very proud of your achievement 👏
