Mental Health Awareness Week…

This mental health awareness week is all about movement, moving more for your mental health.
Regular physical activity is known to improve mental health, quality of life, and wellbeing. Our bodies and our minds are connected, so looking after ourselves physically also helps us prevent problems with our mental health. Exercise releases “feel good” hormones, that reduce feelings of stress and anger.
“Mental Health Foundation”

At Treemendously Wild we use therapeutic strategies and brainstem calming activities, and encourage repetitive and rhythmic movements to help regulate emotions. Our favourite equipment to support brainstem calming is the slack line, rope swing and hammock. 🌿✨

I had the honour of being invited to speak at the Evenlode Geographical Lectures, speaking about Nurture through Nature . I spoke along side Freddie, speaking about the Wildlife of Chadlington and Brad , speaking about the Pudlicote rewilding scheme.
It was an amazing evening and everyone was so welcoming.

Thank you to Nigel Winser for inviting me to be one of the speakers and giving me the opportunity to share the work we do .
Also a big thank you to Martha Evans for making me a lovely handmade pot with my initials as a thank you for speaking. ✨🌿

Why should you attend our sessions?

For parents and carers it gives their children the opportunity to run free in a safe place, whilst getting muddy and wet, all the while making friends and gaining life experience in problem solving, confidence and self-esteem. It’s fair to say that most parents and carers find their children calmed, happy and
tired at the end of a forest school session!

The holistic and inclusive ethos of forest school means that children are free to share their thoughts
and feelings, express their physicality and connect with others who they find an affinity with.

At Treemendously Wild, all children are equal, there are no restrictions with regards to age, ability or
dietary requirements – all are welcome, all are cared for.

Helen and the team would love to show you around the Treemendous space they have created for your children.
If you’d like to visit, or would like to have a chat about how it could work for your children, please get in contact with the team, pop us a message or contact us on 07393 175803 or via email [email protected]

World Mental Health Day 2023…

At Treemendously Wild Cic we focus much of our work on supporting children of all abilities and their families to connect to nature and in turn positively develop their physical and mental well-being. Nature and Forest school is amazing but don’t just take our word for it.

Nature can generate many positive emotions, such as calmness, joy, and creativity and can facilitate concentration. Nature connectedness is also associated with lower levels of poor mental health, particularly lower depression and anxiety.

Forest school - Creating a fun, supportive environment and providing children and young people with exciting, achievable tasks, enables them to succeed and build confidence and self-esteem, and develop new skills which support their learning back in the classroom.

We had an incredible experience at the forest school conference last weekend! The combination of community, learning, nature connection and laughter is truly magical. We returned to our sessions this week feeling inspired and excited to try new ideas and activities.⁣

It’s important to us to embrace these moments of inspiration and motivation, as they can lead to significant growth and development for our Treemendously Wild Community. ⁣

The values and principles at the conference, support our focus on building community, fostering nature connection, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for everyone at Treemendously Wild.

We are grateful to be surrounded by an enthusiastic and creative community, and we look forward to doing it all again next year. 🌿🌿
