We’ve had some lovely feedback on our new website - the planning was all worth it!

However, we are not looking to change things just for the sake of it! When you visit us in person you will still find the same warm welcome from Penny in our relaxed and friendly reception area, the same excellent standard of care from our nurses and hygienists, and the same attention to detail from all of the team for your treatment.

Dentistry is by its nature face to face, it is not a role that can be performed virtually via Teams or Zoom! But we have been reliably informed that even dental practices need a online presence and that ours was in need of an update.

We have fully refreshed the website and have taken this opportunity to move from the www.drbigg.com domain to www.miltondentalpractice.co.uk for both our website and our email addresses. This change will hopefully make it easier for new patients to find us online, bring our website, email and social media in line with each other, and also better reflect the whole team at Milton Dental Practice who work together to provide our patients with with excellent care.

The old addresses are automatically redirecting to the new addresses for the moment so everyone has a chance to get used to the change. The new website address is in our bio (⬆️ up at the top of the page) so please do take a look and let us know what you think.

Meet the Team: Penny Clarke

Our Receptionist, Penny, is the friendly face who ensures that your visit to our practice is a pleasant one. It’s Penny’s job to book your appointments so that they suit your schedule and to prioritise patients in pain so that are seen as soon as possible.

Penny can also answer any questions you may have about your treatment and liaises between the patients and the clinical staff.

Meet the Team: Dr Sam Jones

Sam graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2008. He spent time practising in Cardiff and Surrey before moving to Oxfordshire in 2011. Sam is dedicated to all aspects of dentistry and prides himself on his kind and considerate manner when caring for his patients. He has gained the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed a year-long course in Implant Dentistry.

Sam lives locally with his wife, two children and chickens, and outside of work has a passion for sport, regularly competing in cycling and triathlon events, as well as playing football and tennis.

Meet the Team:

Dr Bigg has been looking after his patients in West Oxfordshire for over 40 years. During this time he has treated up to four generations of some families and this experience has contributed to our practice’s philosophy of care.

Dr Bigg has the Membership in General Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, London and the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and London and from the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an Anglo-American diploma.

Dr Bigg is also a Past President of the British Society for General Dental Surgery and was presented the ‘Straumann Award for Outstanding Achievements in the field of Dentistry’ 2011.

Outside work Dr Bigg enjoys gardening and singing in the Burford Singers. He has three children and nine grandchildren, so is kept busy!

November is Mouth Cancer Action month

Mouth Cancer Action Month (MCAM) is a campaign throughout November run by the each year to raise awareness of mouth cancer, from knowing what signs to look out for, key symptoms, and the rising number of cases in the UK.

For 21 years we have been the lead sponsor of MCAM working closely in partnership with the Oral Health Foundation – and this year is no different.

Over the next month you will see more and more from us regarding Mouth Cancer, including important statistics, moving survival stories, as well as working with MPs and a Multidisciplinary Webinar Series which begins this coming Monday.

The traditional messengers of spring are daffodils and baby lambs - but in this practice we are heralding the arrival of spring with a Baby Boom!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of two bouncing baby boys. Our hygienist Rosie and Paul have welcomed their first baby Ellis, and Associate Sam Jones and his wife Sarah, have welcomed George as a little brother to his sister Florence
