Well the owd TV has finally packed up.

We've had a good run out of her and will miss its inbuilt VAR green line that pre dated its introduction to the Premier League.

Anyway a nice big new one has just been installed in time for the Roses tonight and the Big match on Sunday.

In totally unrelated news all beer prices have gone up 200% with immediate effect due to the introduction of an audio visual improvement levy on pubs brought in by local government!!

They’ve been having a little experiment up at Ben's Brewery and we have this little treat, our extremely popular traditional bitter “The Duke” with blueberries. It’s lovely, don’t panic Duke drinkers that’s still available 😜.

Also on this week we have “Brewer’s Buer” from Milestone Brewery a hoppy pale which upto now has been well received.

Before the match today we'll be having a practice in the nets at Euxton Cricket Club from 5-00 to 6.30 pm and anybody who's interested in playing for the Mighty Ben's Tap & Bottle Shop Taverners is more than welcome to come along.

We'll be returning to Euxton Cricket Club on Sunday 07/07/24 to take on the taverners from Farnworth Cricket-Club who will be looking for a bit of revenge after the thumping we gave them last year.

Hopefully this year I'll get some runs and not just the biggest duck collection in the known world 🦆🦆🦆

Well I'm off down to the capital this afternoon to cheer on Bolton Wanderers Official at Wembley and for everyone who's not joining me we'll be showing the match on all the screens this Saturday.

The added bonus of me being in London is that you'll be spared my boorish behaviour for the duration of the weekend so enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.

Then to Sunday on what is a great weekend of football. We'll have both the City & Arsenal matches showing live.

On the pumps this weekend we've got all the usual suspects from Ben's Brewery with a couple of guest beers from George's Brewery & Milestone Brewery - Tap Room and Shop.

The guest kegs this weekend are a Basque cheesecake pastry Stout from Yonder Brewing & Blending and Galaxy fog from a new brewery to us Burnt Mill Brewery.

Let's not forget the delicious new additions to the bar from The Squirrel Cake Shop. The blondies and brownies have been going down a treat and if you've not tried them don't just take my word for it get in there and stuff your face.

Our first savoury food offering is arriving at Ben's Tap & Bottle Shop this afternoon from 4.15 pm.

We're going to be kicking off with pork pies & pork & chili pies from the multi award winning Frasers Butchers.

If you speak to anybody from the South of Bolton they will tell you of the legendary reputation these pies have.

Being a micro pub we have very limited space and equipment to serve food so we're going to do our very best to bring you the best products we can source while working within our means.

We'll be rotating our suppliers and offering products from both local sources and further afield.

We aim to introduce to your taste buds products that you've never had before while also offering tried and tested local favourites.

Once again we would welcome your support and suggestions for this new venture and we look forward to this hopefully being another feather in the cap of the greatest town centre in the North.

IT'S BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!

We're hoping for good weather, good results and we know we've got great beer.

Tonight the big match is the mighty Bolton Wanderers Official away at Barnsley in the first leg of the play off semi final and all the action will be on every screen. COYWM!!!

Our cask line up is in the pics and also our new bar set up is fully installed so hopefully there'll be no more kamikaze glasses jumping off the edge of the bar.

Just coming on draft we have Basque Cheesecake an 8.4% Pastry Stout from the wonderful Yonder Brewing & Blending and the fridges are bursting at the seams with a great selection of cans from some great breweries.
