Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

With the weather set to be toasty next week, we will be taking our usual precautions of early walks with a plan to completing all by lunchtime. There may also be some changes to the duration of walks too.
I will contact customers on a day to day basis and advise accordingly.
Apologies for any inconvenience, however the dogs are our very first priority, and their welfare is paramount to Wheelers Walkies.

The reason our dogs look happy at Wheelers Walkies....🤔
..Well, it's quite simple. We let our dogs be dogs. They sniff (each others bums if they want too!), they explore (a variety of different places), they play (if they feel like it), they roll (sometimes in fox poo - because, why the hell not?).

Their human slaves; make sure that they have fun in small groups of 4 dogs (no more!), they feed dog approved sweeties (just because they can), they don't just stand in a field and throw a ball for an hour, and they have nice clean, dog friendly, vehicles which meet the legal requirements of the transportation of animals.

Oh. And did I mention, the cuddles. Lots of cuddles! 🥰 🐾

My Friday posts don't seem to be posting very well recently. Possibly due to all the lovely pictures of your happy dogs. Its so difficult to choose, and I end up posting so many - Friday eve, is clearly a very busy time Facebook 🤔

It was certainly a wet end to the week. Pups and humans, absolutely did not care. We had lots if fun, despite being a little soggy. 🐾

Wowsers, what a scorcher this week has been. We have had early starts, and a little shuffling of walks. However, all dogs have had their Wheelers Walkies fix and enjoyed swimming and walks in the shade. 🐾

Due to the warm weather, I would like to advise that all walks will be finished before 12pm. We can offer pop ins if needed for anyone that requires an afternoon service. Our priority is the welfare of the dogs. If we think it is too warm for walks, or your dog is not coping in the heat, we may not be able to offer your usual service. We will always offer an alternative service, such as a pop in.

As a result of Jo being off on a well deserved break, It was take your 'husband' to work week 🤣 Martin loves the dogs, he loves good weather (good job Jo planned ahead 😉), but he is most definitely not up to clocking roughly 40k steps every day! It's been lovely having my sidekick with me (thank you Martin!), and it's been great seeing all of my old crew again 🐾 I've told Jo, no more holidays, my legs are killing me. 🤣

It's been a busy week. We pride ourselves on making sure we deliver a service to your dogs. A service which is safe, full of fun and meets the requirements of their humans. The dogs are always our priority, despite the never ending demands of running a business. We are a very small business, with limited capacity and resource but we do our absolute best to accommodate and ensure we provide the best service possible to your dogs. 🐾 Pictures of your happy dogs below. 🐕

It's feeling very Spring like at the moment. We are making the most of it while it lasts. The dogs are happy, the humans are happy..... but there does seem to be a lot of Fox poo about. 💩 🙈 🐾 Anyway, on that note... here is our week in pictures. X

I just want everyone to hear my thoughts.

There are a number of new (and old) 'professional' dog walkers out there. There are a number of those 'professionals' who do not hold valid insurance, transport your dogs legally, in safe, crated vehicles and those who walk more than the recommended business standard of four in a group. If, they are walking more (even with a pair of humans), the maximum number an insurance company will cover is six. Six, in my opinion is too many!

So, please. Make sure, that your ' professional' dog walker, is fully insured, has a safe, crated vehicle, only walks maximum 6 in a group, and has a valid, industry recognised canine first aid certificate!

There are a lot of cowboys out there. They believe being a professional dog walker is easy money. It isn't. If it is done properly. 🐾

Jo and I spent today obtaining our accredited Canine First Aid Certificate. We are now officially certified for 3 years. Hoping we never have to use it, but always useful to have. X
