Photo from Friday's concert in Warsaw with the BBC Symphony Orchestra opening the Festiwal Eufonie. Great programme of Elgar Polonia, Szymanowski second violin concerto (with fantastic Vadim Gluzman), Lotta Wennäkoski, composer's Verdigris and finishing with two Sibelius works En Saga and Lemminkäinen's Return. All conducted by Conductor Olari Elts who was such a pleasure to work with!

Eagerness from British Airways to seek me out in order for some staff to learn how to check in a cello after some recent bad experiences... Sheku Kanneh-Mason Steven Isserlis. I've been lucky in the past; today wasn't completely smooth but there was a real desire to learn and get to the bottom of it. 👌

A fun weekend at the RPO at Abbey Road Studios getting to record in two of the three studios with really lovely friends Jeff Atmajian, Anne Nikitin, Tom Kelly and Fiona Cruickshank.
Studio One with Jeff orchestrating and overseeing the thoughtful and creative music of Danaë Vlasse and making a lot of new friends in the process. And recording solos for Anne in Studio Two for a project with a very well-known actor...see if you can spot him in the studio two control room photo.

The sun sets on this Academy of St Martin in the Fields chamber ensemble tour. We started in Carmel, Indiana and finished last night in Columbus, Ohio. And had Tuscaloosa Alabama, Charlottesville Virginia, and Costa Mesa and Davis California in between. Heading home now from Pittsburgh. What an incredible experience, full of great music, memories and a wonderful sense of camaraderie through it all.
Tonight the Academy of St Martin in the Fields chamber ensemble are at the Mondavi Center. It's always a pleasure to be here!
The Academy of St Martin in the Fields chamber ensemble were on Alabama Public Radio this morning talking with David Duff and playing some Beethoven Septet and Nielsen's Serenata in Vano ahead of our concert in Tuscaloosa this evening. Here's a little clip of our Nielsen, the full performance and interview is on APR's page at https://fb.watch/n-LtGpqgP6/
Some Vivaldi Four Seasons clips of Joshua Bell and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields chamber ensemble from our rehearsal the other day at The Appel Room in New York for Meyer Sound.
We then headed across the city for a fun evening of music-making with Joshua and Larisa Martínez, celebrating the generous support of our American Friends who support so much of our work and performances. What a day, only in New York, New York! 4/4
We had a great day in New York yesterday with and our Chamber Ensemble. We had the pleasure of performing at the Nadia Constellation launch event at 1/4
What an amazing day yesterday with Joshua Bell and Academy of St Martin in the Fields chamber ensemble! Playing at The Appel Room for Meyer Sound and then an evening salon performance which included a wonderful monologue from Salieri himself, F. Murray Abraham. Now flying to Chicago en route to Indiana for a concert tonight in Carmel.
Not a bad view for our chamber performance...

Back in London now from one of the most enjoyable and rewarding weeks I've ever experienced.
A week of chamber music residency in Singapore with my wonderful partners violinist Kam Ning and pianist Lim Yan alongside public cello and chamber music masterclasses and private lessons at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.
What an incredible institution YST is with a great faculty and extremely hardworking, talented and dedicated students.
Thank you YST! 🙏
Review of our Kam Harwood Lim trio concert at YST Singapore in The Straits Times!

"The trio gave a take-no-prisoners performance, and the audience members held their breath for a few moments after its subdued close before erupting in loud applause. They had been compelled to understand what the music meant."

Certainly not my best angle but here's some Ligeti Solo Sonata warm up before yesterday's concert.
Music at Malling
Lovely to play at Music at Malling this lunchtime at Malling Abbey. Ligeti Solo Sonata first and then, with violinist David Juritz, Ligeti's Hommage à Hilding Rosenberg and Brian Elias's Three Duets before David gave a fantastic performance of Bartók's Solo Sonata. Here with David and Brian after the action.
🎻 Next Week: Kam-Harwood-Lim Trio Chamber Recital 🎻
Don’t miss YST faculty Lim Yan (collaborative piano) as he joins visiting artists Kam Ning (violin) and Richard Harwood (cello) in this much-awaited chamber recital.
This evening, we also express our appreciation to the late Dr Yong Pung How, who was former Chief Justice of Singapore; a transformative champion of education at NUS; and a crucial benefactor in the development of YST.

Had such a pleasure of a week as guest principal of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and my first time experiencing Sakari Oramo 🙏 for a Prom on Thursday night with Elgar violin concerto (Christian Tetzlaff), a new work Begin Afresh by Judith Weir, and the most richly enjoyable Schumann 1.
