Jam Delish have recently opened their first flagship restaurant and cocktail bar in Angel, Islington!

Jam Delish is an independent family-owned Caribbean vegan restaurant and cocktail bar in Angel, Islington. Founded in 2020 by siblings Jordan and Chyna, their idea was one that came purely from their desire to bring their grandparents authentic, traditional Caribbean recipes from their family home to the London food scene, with a fresh and modern take, inspired by their own upbringing in a vegan h

BEST SAVOURY & SWEET DISHES 2024 🔥

Here’s a roundup of our favourite savoury and sweet dishes that our executive chef has rolled out this autumn 🍂

1 - Stuffed BBQ jerk plantain, packed with flavourful jerk oyster mushrooms and creamy whipped pimento feta.

2 - Classic bread and butter pudding, using Jamaican spiced bun. Drizzled with a rum caramel and white chocolate custard, topped with a sweet and tangy mango and pineapple compote.

3 - These tempura-battered okra fries are paired with a zesty herb mayo for the ultimate dip.

4 - Crispy plantain hash browns, fried to perfection and dusted in chef Nathan’s pepper spice mix, mopped up with his tangy plantain ketchup.

5 - Chef Nathan’s delicious take on Jamaican sweet potato pudding! Layered with silky chocolate ganache and a smooth, spiced sweet potato mousse infused with coconut condensed milk, topped with cloud like meringues, and served with a homemade pumpkin and banana ice cream.

6 - Cornmeal fried dumplings filled with a rich coconut chocolate ganache, and a vanilla custard glaze.

7 - Nathan has put a low waste twist on sweet doubles! He’s used the entire banana: a caramel crunch from the skin, a rich crème anglaise from the pith, and smooth banana ice cream.

CARIBBEAN ISLAND HOPPING SERIES 🏝️

In the lead up to Black History Month 🖤 our executive chef wanted to shine a light on the national dishes from a number of Caribbean islands 🏝️

Here are some of his creations with a plant-based 🌱 twist:

1 - Chef Nathan has made Dominica’s national dish, a flavourful Callaloo Soup ✨ with cassava flour spinners, marinated oyster mushrooms and bun and cheese croutons 🇩🇲

2 - Chef Nathan’s take on Cou-Cou and Flying Fish ✨ pays homage to his Bajan roots. This dish brings him closer to the flavours and traditions of home 🇧🇧

3 - Chef Nathan has put his own twist on Grenada’s national dish, Oil Down, ✨ creating a hearty, flavourful, and truly delicious vegan version 🇬🇩

4 - Chef Nathan’s vibrant take on Haiti’s Freedom Soup ✨ with marinated oyster mushrooms and a crisp finish with tostones and cassava chips. A creative celebration of tradition and resilience 🇭🇹

5 - Chef Nathan’s take on Trinidad’s beloved national dish, Pelau ✨ He’s swapped the meat for oyster and king oyster mushrooms, bringing rich, umami flavors to this classic dish 🇹🇹

🍂 NEW AUTUMN WINTER MENU 🍂

We are proud to announce that our highly anticipated Autumn Winter Menu will launch tomorrow, Tuesday 1st October from 5pm.

Our executive chef 👨🏾‍🍳 has done it again, creating delicious dishes that bring warmth and comfort to these colder months 🥶 Bold, vibrant flavours and hearty options, this menu is one of our favourites yet and will feature Caribbean classics from a number of the islands including Jamaica 🇯🇲 Barbados 🇧🇧 Trinidad 🇹🇹 and Guyana 🇬🇾!

Whilst the staples such as our fried “chicken, curry “goat” and jerk “chicken” will remain on the menu, we’ve also introduced a number of mouth-watering vegetable-focused options.

We are confident that you will love the new menu and can’t wait to hear your thoughts 😍

We told you yesterday that we have a Jam Sessions Brunch Special coming this autumn 😍🔥

The full details of the brunch will be released soon including the date, ticket price and how to purchase tickets!

In the meantime, check out some of the amazing dishes that our head chef is considering for the brunch menu:

Set Jamaican Cornmeal Porridge, cooked with all the spices and rolled in cornflakes and hazelnut praline with rosewater crème fraiche, mangoes and raspberries

Vanilla Hardo Bread French Toast, topped with homemade vegan Nutella, macerated strawberries, chantilly cream and guava rum sauce

Guyanese Pholourie, i.e. deep fried savoury split pea fritters, served with coconut yoghurt, tamarind blackened applies, kiwi, pomegranate and pineapple hot sauce

Banana Fritters, served with coconut yoghurt, and mango and strawberry salsa

Crispy Oyster Mushrooms with Hot Maple Butter, served with fresh scotch bonnet and grilled king oyster mushroom bacon, all on top of a slice of homemade pound cake, and finished with coconut and pimento sauce

Red Stripe beer battered “fish” celeriac, thyme and cassava pommes anna, curry sauce, Caribbean tartar sauce

We are excited to announce that the price has been reduced to £55 per person!

We are pleased to announce the launch of Jam Sessions - a unique Caribbean-inspired guest chef series!

Rooted in home and heritage, the three-part series will take place at our flagship restaurant in Islington, and spotlight three distinct menus from three talented chefs, in collaboration with our head chef, Nathan Collymore, and provide a unique opportunity to experience dishes full of cherished food memories, created by some of the the UK’s most exciting chefs.

Kicking of the series with a five course tasting menu on Tuesday 2nd July is talented chef and 12:51 founder James Cochran, who’s experience includes working at the world-renowned, three-Michelin-starred, The Ledbury, and Michelin-starred Gastropub The Harwood Arms.

The menu at next month’s Jam Sessions #1 will reflect Nathan and James’s passion for authentic Caribbean flavours and modern cooking techniques.

We recently found out that we had been included in the prestigious list of best places to eat in Islington 🙏🏽

This is a massive achievement for and the whole .delish team, and one that we all feel very proud of, especially coming from such a widely respected panel of food critics, who visit restaurants, pubs and cafes all over the UK in search of the best ones to recommend to the public.

We also want to say thank you to our amazing customers for helping us achieve our place in this prestigious list, as the food critics will only visit an establishment after receiving a huge volume of positive feedback from their readers on that particular establishment.

We hope that this is the first of many awards for .delish this year and we can’t wait to share with you all our exciting plans for the summer.
