Today we hosted our first coffee tasting session at 1B!

Our personal favourite, the Ethiopian Adola, is now on offer as filter in the cafe! Grown at a whopping 2100m above sea level, it’s got the sweetness, a lovely bright acidity and some peng floral notes as well!

Twelve brave souls tasted 6 coffees after hours then practically flew out the door 🤪

Massive thanks to Jo at for supplying the marvellous beans!

We’ll be trying 6 coffees from all the globe, expertly roasted by Bristol’s own Triple Co Roast 🔥

✨Evenings at 1B✨

Last Thursday saw 1B’s first event of 2022 - the launch of John McLellan’s inaugural book, The Faultline 🎉💕

John is a friend of the café and it was an honour to host the book launch (with canapés & bubbly!) alongside his close friends 💖

The book, set in the Scottish highlands, tells the story of friendship, coming of age and coming out during a time of rife homophobia

We’re super stoked to now offer Clever Drippers & showcase some of Bristol’s best coffee roasters!

The ‘cleverness’ comes from it’s ability to immerse the coffee fully in water then let it drain out the bottom valve when placed over the cup 🤓 this results in an evenly extracted brew with a clean, smooth profile from percolation 🔥

We’ve paired up with Bristol’s 🙌🏼 They support local business and the coffee speaks for itself, we’re obsessed! 🤩

Happy New Year from 1B 🤍

It’s been a hectic crazy year for us, we’ve come so far already and will be serving way more cracking coffee in 2022 🔥

🎄 Closed for Christmas🎄

Hi all, we’re now closed for Christmas holidays and some well-needed rest! We know it’s a bit early but it’s the most responsible thing to do (even had to cancel the staff cheese & wine party 😭)

We’ll be back open in January 2022 but for now, we’re wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year!!

There’ll be loads more to come next year that we’re excited to share with you! ✌🏻🎉

Thanks to everyone who came down for our first evening sessions, it was packed out 🤙🏻

With low lighting and the smell of mulled wine filling the café, the atmosphere was perfect for a few winter drinks before heading out into the cold! 🤟🏻❄️🥃

The Blueberry & Basil G&Ts were a hit as was the 5 litres of mulled wine we got through 🤪we helped finish it off don’t worry)

It’s seems we’re now a soup kitchen that happens to sell coffee ✌🏻

Jokes aside, we’re loving the start of soup season, slinging sensational soulful bowls of the good stuff 🔥

These two are Butternut Squash & Sage and a Thai Green Noodle Soup but we’ve been making a different one a day since we began two weeks ago! Every single one has been and will be vegan so everyone can get involved :)

It’s been selling out early and we can only make so much, so grab yours before 2pm because it’s usually gone x

⭐️🇧🇷 Filter of the Week 🇧🇷⭐️

From Monte Santo de Minas in Brazil, this week’s filter is a fuller-bodied coffee with a delicious roasty nuttiness that’ll boost you through these wintry days ⛄️🥶

Mió, a family-run coffee farm, take enormous pride in the traceability of their coffee 🤟🏻 using satellite imagery, they offer detailed reports to their roasters on the exact journey that the coffee has taken which is super important in ethical production!!

This coffee uses a red honey process, where 70 – 80% of the coffee cherry’s mucilage stays on the beans. They are then dried and rested in silos for 30 to 60 days which allows the coffee to develop more complexity of flavour ✨

Founded in Florence in 1927, La Marzocco have been at the forefront of espresso machines WHICH IS WHY we’re awarding it Employee of the Month, October 2021 (Mikey’s asked for a recount of the votes already) l
