We have 4 weeks off this summer! We're asking the children to do at least 4 different water activities and tell their teacher about them on the first week of the new term.

The goal is to help them develop a positive relationship with water. Here are some fun ideas:

🏊‍♂️Go swimming at a local pool or beach
🎈Have a water balloon fight
🛶Try paddleboarding or kayaking
🛝Visit a water park
🎣Go fishing or crabbing
🛥Take a boat ride or ferry trip

All our lessons at Grace Dieu have finished for the summer, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support throughout the year!

We start back the week of August 19th, and we look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for the new term.

As some of you know, I was in Warwickshire completing my final swimming tutor course before I fully qualify. The 19-hour days are finally over, and I’m back to work today. My staff has truly gone above and beyond during this time!

To all my customers, I appreciate your patience and understanding. I will be replying to everyone this evening. Thank you for your continued support!

🌊 Safety First at the Beach! 🌊

As summer holiday time approaches and many of us head to the beach here in the UK, let's remember that being safe in the water is far more important than 'looking cool.'

💧 Cold Water Shock: This can happen in any water 15 degrees or less. With our average summer sea temperatures ranging from 15-20 degrees, it's crucial to be prepared.

👕 Stay Visible and Safe:

We ensure Arthur wears a wetsuit and bright clothes over a life jacket for his safety. He is 7 years old and can swim.

We always go up to the lifeguards and explain the importance of staying between the flags – they’re happy to chat and educate us!

Our 13-year-old, much to his dismay, wears a bright-coloured t-shirt over his wetsuit and I lead by example and wear my bright pink top over my wetsuit. With hundreds of people in the sea, visibility is key!

It is so much more than 'swimming'

It is a life skill which we keep for life!

The family time I've had this week has mostly involved paddleboarding, kayaking and puddle jumping. Which wouldn't have been possible without the confidence as a parent he has safety knowledge and physical confidence of the water.

It is never too late to learn!
