The season has started and we feel it is an important time to say thank you to some of our sponsors.

St Joseph's Tearoom sponsors our current under-14s. Without the support of local businesses like St Joseph’s, it would be very difficult for the club to be able to afford kit for our young players.

Thank you for sponsoring the team and supporting these young men to play football.

⚽️⚽️Glenfield 4-3 Bardon⚽️⚽️ - Weekend result.

Sunday saw the start of the season and unfortunately a loss for Bardon.

A Very entertaining game again for all to watch with
Bardon going 1-0 down early in the first half as we was still sleeping but battled really hard and brought it back with a goal from Jacob Stretton to make it 1-1.
Some good football from Bardon with George Gray slotting home to make it 2-1 to us. Just before halftime, Glenfield scored to make it 2-2.

2nd half began just as quick as the first both teams pushing but Bardon conceded 2 goals within within 5 minutes making it 4-2.
With 10 minutes left Bardon pushed to bring the game back with another goal scored by Zachary Coleman making it 4-3.

Bardon pushed till the end but couldn't find another goal and were unlucky not to get a draw. Congratulations and thanks to Glenfield for a great match.

As the new season is about to begin, we are delighted to confirm that we have received grant funding from the Football Foundation to support the build of a brand new set of changing rooms on the site to support the exciting development of our ground and the Club as a whole.
The first stages of clearing the site has started today, and we’ll be running a series of updates as this build continues and recognising those fantastic local businesses who have donated their own financial support, materials and time to get this off the ground.

Onwards and Upwards!

One of our under-16s is injured and will not be able
to play for at least a couple of months. Instead of being on his Xbox, Alfie is down every week supporting his teammates and tonight picked up the line marker and marked the pitch to its new
Size.

Thank you Alfie and speedy recovery.

Bardon U12’s 1 vs 2 Football and Fitness

A great match to watch and some fantastic football was played by both teams down at Bardon this evening.

The 1st half ended 0-0 with both teams having some good chances.

In the 2nd half Football and Fitness took the lead after some great football. Shortly after, they scored again to make it 0-2 with a few deflections in the box and their forward tapped it in from close range. Later in the half Bardon scored a penalty which was tucked away by Laison Fradsham, with 5 minutes to go, Bardon pushed for the equaliser but F&F held on for the win.

The boys move on to another friendly next week and look forward to the start of the new season.

⚽️⚽️ Bardon A 2 - 1 Greenhill Vets

A second outing in 3 days saw Greenhill Vets visit Bardon in a pre-season friendly.

The Vets took the lead in the first half with a ball over the top, the Vets striker ran through and lobbed the Bardon Keeper to make it 1-0. The Vets knocked the ball about well and kept Bardon at arm's length before the referee blew for halftime.

In the 2nd half, Bardon took more control of the game with some nice passing with some searching balls over the Vet's defence, before A J Wileman fired home from close range to make it 1-1.

Bardon continued to press for a winner with some excellent closing down before Jake Turner tapping in from close range to make it 2-1. The Bardon defence held firm with some resolute defending before the Vets forward forced an impressive save from the Bardon Keeper Ludlum.

Another fantastic comeback from the boys to continue their pre-season before the start of the league.

Thanks to the Vets for a great game.

Bardon Under 17 Eagles 2 - 3 Groby

A last-minute strike saw our under-17s lose 3-2 in a competitive game.

Both teams battled well with some well-timed balls over the top releasing Bardons number 9 Jessie having a couple of decent runs at the Groby defence.

Bardon deserved to be leading 2-0 at halftime with some excellent play and a brace from Josh O’Shea showing real quality in the box.

In the 2nd half, Groby played some lovely football on their right hand side with their number 35 impressing and it was he that set up their 1st goal, shortly followed by a 2nd.

Bardon had numerous chances to take the lead with their keeper making a number of impressive saves and Bardon hitting a shot over the bar.

Groby won it with the last kick of the game where a shot inside the box nestled into the bottom corner.

A great match to watch and a good competitive game for our lads moving forward to the season in a couple of weeks.

Bardon A 3 - 2 Burton First

Bardon A continued their pre-season preparation with a 3 - 2 win against a decent Burton side who won the county cup last season.

After a disappointing loss last week, the lads stepped up took control of the game and played some fantastic football against a physical and experienced side.

Bardon took the lead from a individual effort from Charlie Gough who picked up the ball from just
past the halfway went on a dazzling run to bury the ball from 25 yards into the top corner. Further chances came during the half and Bardon would have extended their lead, however, the Burton keeper made a couple of smart saves.

Bardon then conceded just after halftime to a set piece with the ball deflecting off our defender to make it 1-1. Bardon then went behind through a defensive mistake to make it 2-1 Burton.

On 70 minutes, Bardon drew level with Jake Turner hitting a sublime free kick from 30 yards with it nestling it into the bottom corner.

Further pressure from the home team paid offwith a corner from Jake Hall falling to Alan Deacon to make it 3-2.

After the game, the management team of Scott Haskett & Jason Cowley, Dan Cooper and Owen Haskett said they were pleased with the character and control of the game and deserved to win. After a tough outing last week, we are pleased with the response today and in training. Many of the lads are new to senior football and adapting well to the physicality of adult football.

The teams next pre-season friendly is against Greenhill Vets on Tuesday at Bardon,6.15 KO. All are welcome to support.

Well done chaps 💪

Bardon fights back to earn a draw

Bardon fought back from 4-1 down at halftime to draw 4-4 this morning against Swadlincote Spartans in hot conditions.

The first half saw the visitors knock the ball around confidently and a particularly impressive midfield performance from Spartans number 17 saw the away team leading 3-0 with some clinical finishing. The home team pulled one back with James Brindley netting before the Spartans raced into a 4-1 lead at halftime with their forward jinking between two Bardon defenders and finishing past the keeper.

In the 2nd half, a much-improved performance all round from the boys before a ball over the top was seized upon by Brindley who lobbed the Spartans keeper to make it 4-2.

Ian Jones then scored a superb goal with a cross from the left-hand side which he dispatched into the left corner out of the reach of the Spartans Keeper.

Brindley then scored his 3rd of the day with a lovely finish inside the box again after some good work on the left-hand side to make it 4-4.

Bardon had the better of the final stages with two good chances to win it at the end. A slight mix-up at the back led to a shot on target but the Spartans keeper made a smart save to his left.

The final chance of the game again fell to Jones with a deep corner where he headed narrowly wide before the referee blew his final whistle.
