After full preparation the matte paint was protected with Kamikaze Collection Zipang Coat 2.0.
Wheels removed for decontamination before protecting the satin finish with a suitable ceramic coating providing easy washing.
Calipers also ceramic coated.
All exterior glass coated for ultra hydrophobicity.

Of the hundreds of cars and thousands of hours spent perfecting the skill set, it’s not often we come across an outlier.
This BMW Sapphire Black Metallic paint did not respond to the combination used to unlock the potential on other BMW the same colour.
It turns out the lacquer was extremely soft even though a full inspection revealed it was OE factory paint. Most likely an issue during production.
This meant a single stage paint enhancement would no longer suffice for a great finish and a two stage machine polish was required.
To top it off it was our first time using newly acquired CarPro CQuartz Professional ceramic coating and on this finicky black paint we had our challenges there too 😮💨.
It took longer than expected but we got there with experience and patience. It’s not a bad thing to get tested every now and again to be reminded how far you’ve come. This was definitely not a job for the amateur!

Z4 M Coupe (E46 M3 engine) in Sapphire Ruby Black Metallic.
In for our Paint Enhancement reducing swirls and restoring colour and clarity.
After a safe wash and three stage decontamination it was brought indoors for touch less drying (filtered air) before an extensive single stage Rupes machine polish to enhance the paint. The following day the final stage was to protect the finish with cquartz ceramic coating for up to two years protection from the elements and a much easier vehicle to wash changing the experience for a chore to enjoyable!
Really nice turn around and an extremely happy owner.

Our Story
We all are investing more time and money into having our four wheels look the best they can.
At Bathé we aim to do thing a little differently. We are obsessed with attaining the best possible finish that can be achieved with current technology and techniques. Investing in training with manufacturers, countless hours in and out of the workspace constantly studying everything that's required in the art of fine automotive detailing. This is something we will continue to do so as it’s what you learn after you know it that counts. We are a low output but very high quality output business, usually only dealing with one vehicle per week and always one vehicle at a time. When it comes to product we only use the best available and only after extensive testing. Everything from wash media, microfibre towels, polish, coatings and tools have been extensively researched, then tested before being incorporated into the workshop.
I personally have been obsessed with a clean car since i started driving way back in 1995 polishing week in and week out. Ive used a lot of product over the last 20+ years from Autoglym to Zymol and everything in between, i dare not guess how many hours have been spend out in the garage! I have witnessed the evolution to what it is today and the difference is simply unbelievable. My biggest frustration for the last 20 years has been durability. You could spend countless hours polishing and perfecting only for those results to last weeks before it was required to start over.
My first experience of ceramic coating was in 2016 with a new car. I was very dubious at first and was going down the old wax routine but a friend insisted i give them a go. Back then coatings where tricky to apply and a lot of myths about what they could actually do, most people for them but just as many against not believing any product could last 1-2 years. I got a good 18 months from the early generation coatings which completely turned my attitude to detailing 180 degrees.
Since then coatings have improved unbelievably along with other products and the techniques to back them up. Years ago i just would not have seen the sense spending hundreds of pounds having your car polished and waxed only for all the money, time and hard work to wear off in a matter of weeks (Ive been down that road too). Today with the results that can be achieved from today's polishes & compounds then protected for months and years with today's Coatings its a spend that is worth more today than it ever has...
