Just Jemima….. we are celebrating 10 years in business and will be having a week of looking back at where it all began.
We are having our kids’ craft classes at a £10 special for the week.
We are also having a big summer sale in preparation for all our new autumn craft schedule.
Fairy school is back for one day only on Friday.
On Saturday we will be having a lovely party with a GIANT CAKE!!!! It’s even taller than me!! 🤷‍♀️ 🎂

Be a designer for the week….will you design an imaginary friend from the movie IF… or an under the sea coral reef at our paint party, a bejewelled flower crown, clay jewellery, a doodle mug for your hot chocolate….. or just get stuck into your favourite slime class!!! There is magic in the air this week at Just Jemima children’s craft studio in Castlerock 🧚‍♀️
Let your little ones spend the whole day in training to gain their wings, skills, create other sparkling treasures, and get their fairy certificate at the end of the day. I do hope parents can attend at 3pm for such an occasion.
Send a packed lunch but we will of course have some fairy food designed by our resident chef

This week our children’s craft workshops are all about FOOD! We will be making s’mores, sewing up some strawberry bags, making icecream art and sensory fun, fruity jewellery, and our strawberry themed day on Saturday. Sarah has created a beautiful 3 course summer menu that reflects our garden here at Hezlett House. I have a delicate painty craft waiting for you too. Just Jemima Studio is based in the grounds of historic Hezlett House.
Our cottage garden is currently bursting with summer blooms, wild flowers, and the heady aromas of roses and honeysuckle.
It’s the perfect setting for a Cottage Garden themed menu from chef Sarah Jones from The Little Deli.

Our 3 course menu will be complemented by some summer creativity and Al fresco crafting with Lorna Kyle from Just Jemima.

I’m so happy that is back at Hezlett House this Saturday.
Sarah will have all her fabulous signature sausage rolls. People drive for miles to get them!! And when they are gone…. They have gone. Cakes, charcuterie, cheeses, pickles and great coffee.

SUPER SATURDAY tomorrow in Just Jemima children’s studio in CASTLEROCK.
1. We have designer Thea launching her brand of beaded bracelets called ‘Threaded Treasures by Thea’. They are beautifully packaged and will be for sale at £3 or 2 for £5. Perfect for little gifts or party bags.

3. Craft classes:
10-12noon is a miniature North coast scene that lights up.
1-3pm is where you can choose any of this week’s crafts.

• a beginner’s seaside themed embroidery class for parent and child, granny and grandchild , teenager etc.
We will learn some simple stitches and tricks so you can go home with a mini masterpiece. Did you know that Taylor Swift loves embroidery?!! 🧵 We will of course have coffee and cake!
•We are also repeating our surfboard class on Friday
• CASTLEROCK in your pocket is where you create a mini Castlerock / Portstewart/Portrush/ North Coast seaside scene in a little box that even lights up at night. This is a new class too so I can’t wait to see how these turn out!

Hello everyone ……a few wee pointers of how summer schedule looks right now 😎
•We are kicking off at the end of June with our beach club in the garden. 🏖️
• Summer Crafts will then run Thursday Friday Saturday.
• Birthday parties/corporate events…. message me for availability.
• Thursdays - Toadstool Tots class in the morning followed by a slightly longer sewing session for older children on Thursday afternoon.
•Fridays+ Saturdays- themed crafts…. Also you can opt for the Super Saturday option which gives you a chance to pick and mix your activity and do what you’ve missed in previous weeks.
• July has 4 different themed craft weeks and these can be viewed on the website. They will also be posted on socials. The timetable often changes slightly to suit demand so keep an eye on social media.
• Week 1 -‘Hello Summer’ is all about the holidays we have added Monday 1st July as a 10am-3pm class for older kids to set up our summer scrapbooks ready to create our memories. Send a lunch and I will have snacks.
• Week 2 - ‘Taylor Swift’… sewing a swiftie doll, bead bars, friendship bracelets etc etc! Even the tots have a sensory bead session
• Week 3 - ‘By the sea’ -mermaids, surf, shells and slime is back!
•Week 4 - ‘Sporty crafts’… the euros are in force so lots of football crafts ⚽️ plus a little nod to the Paris Olympics with ‘A Parisian Dollhouse’ class and making the little red French mascot ‘Phryges’.
•Sarah from will also be back onsite to caffeinate and feed everyone YAY!!!!!

Phew!!!!! Are we all ready for this…. ?!!!
It’s a mammoth task timetabling and creating a bio for each class that suits all ages and abilities. I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone. Incidentally and importantly, Just Jemima is fully insured with safeguarding and has a professional background as an occupational therapist. If you have any queries about any of the classes please get in touch. I’m always happy to discuss any ideas, issues or a child’s individual needs confidentially to enable them to integrate fully in any of our creative workshops.

Crafty Saturdays with Just Jemima at our beautiful little studio in the grounds of Hezlett house in Castlerock. Our cottage garden is in bloom, the wild flowers are growing tall in their little patch, and we are only 5 minutes from the beach, coffee shops, caravan parks and Castlerock train station.
Simply register and book online with your child’s details, drop off your little ones and enjoy our lovely seaside village.
We have an exciting timetable planned for the summer months but for now, let’s do June!
Each class has a description online and age guide.
A wee note, our swiftie day is geared for age 4+ in the morning and the sewing swiftie session is age 8+. Our journal class is also for age 7+. This gives older children a change to do some more complex activities at an age-appropriate pace.

Our next event is our mermaid afternoon on Saturday 1st June: 2-4pm in Just Jemima studio. Suitable from aged 4 upwards.
We plan to have a ‘mermazing’ craft session and make our own mermaids full of the utmost ‘shell-egance’ 🐚
We will have some ocean treats too to keep our energy and creativity flowing.
It’s sure to be a ‘fin-tastic’ day!

NEW KIDS’ WORKSHOPS…. Howdy y’all!!!! 🐴 😉.
It ain’t Texas but it’s Castlerock, and time to saddle up for a big crafty hoedown this upcoming May Bank holiday weekend.
We are having a crafty rodeo in the studio and grounds. It’s time to wear your best cowboy/cowgirl outfit and get creative with all things rodeo! 🐎
Think horses…. Cowboy boots…. Stetson hats… bandanas….denim… checks….. cowprint!
Get a selfie, make some crafts, take the rodeo race challenge, and afterwards have some themed snacks in our Western style saloon from ( our resident horse-box, of course!!)

Our schedule is continuously adapting to the demands of our little creative customers.
Tuesday is fully booked so I have added an extra slime session onto Thursday afternoon.
If a class is full and it’s the only session you can attend, just use the waiting list function on my booking system. Sometimes we get cancellations and class transfers due to sickness etc so it means that you can be given a place if this occurs.

For all the little creative chicks out there, this is our chicken dreamcatcher class that we are running this Friday and also next Thursday.
Lots of working with wire, weaving a nest, making pompom chicks, and not forgetting all the little egg-xtras! Eggs, butterflies, leaves, feathers, bugs, twigs, bling! I want to keep adding to this…. 😆
This will keep the children soooo busy for at least 2 hours!!! A couple of mums asked me today if they could join in… pm me if this is you!! It be lovely to have some parent and child sessions.

So, trying to get a photo of an excited puppy, a very excited child, and a swinging friendship garland, isn’t the easiest. Photo is a little blurry but we had to quickly ‘capture the moment’ when this little lady gave Cassie a friendship garland that she had made at our class this morning.
Cassie, is her new bestie!
We all loved this little furry guest in the studio today. Thanks dad for letting him pop in!! We also made some swiftie-style bracelets with our new Easter charms.

Just Jemima children’s craft studio in Castlerock on the North Coast.
We have something to suit all ages, from tots at our Peter Rabbit morning up to sewing sessions for older children/teens.
I’ve a few mums and grannies that want to join in so the Sew together family session is perfect for you.
We have our famous slime workshops and an egg hunt in our pretty garden. I may add an extra class for older kids ( age 8+) so keep a lookout.
