Hi everyone!! My name is Abbey, and I am the teacher of our SDA Congleton branch and dancer in Project G and GFunk.
I teach in the academy alongside my full time job as a Conference and Events Coordinator and I dance with my teams 3 times a week. I have been a part of our academy for around 13/14 years (I lose count!) and in that time I have achieved some amazing things alongside my family - I have performed at Breaking Convention, nearly competed in Barcelona before COVID got in the way, competed at so many regional competitions to place and go to the UDO World Championships where I have competed in the top Over 18 Advanced category and placed 9th in the world, as well as completing a total of 11 IDTA dance exams that are internationally credited, just to name a few!

Throughout my years as a student here, I have learnt and love a wide variety of styles including locking, house, hip-hop, old school, waacking, commercial, contemporary - the list goes on! As a teacher, my biggest aim is to help each student understand the true background in street dance and learn to understand and love each style for its different qualities and be able to express themselves through movement and music. I can promise that no class will ever be the same and will be full of passion, energy and creativity whilst creating a safe and accepting environment for each dancer to connect with dance and experience that same passion.

Street Dance Academy has truly given me friends for life, the family-like atmosphere is unmatched and something you don’t find at all dance schools so I am so lucky to have grown up surrounded by such brilliant teachers and dancers. The opportunities that it has provided me with are ones that I will treasure and remember for a lifetime and I am really excited to bring a brand new generation of dancers to the academy and give them the same experiences as I have had.

Only 4 weeks until our brand new branch launches and I am so excited to get started and meet our newbies! 🤩

This weekend SDA’s comp teams are at United Dance Organisation’s 15th World Championships in Blackpool and we are so excited!! Since September, all of our teams have competed in regional competitions to qualify for the biggest weekend of our dance year and should all be so proud of what we have achieved in the last 10 months!! We want to wish all of our teams the best of luck this weekend, all updates will be shared 🤩

Street Dance Academy are very happy to announce that we are now branching further out into Cheshire and offering classes in Congleton for all ages on a Monday, starting from 12th September!

- Babes 3-5 Years @ 4:45 - 5:30pm
- 6-11 Years @ 5:30 - 6:30pm
- 12 + Years @ 6:30 - 7:30pm
- Adults Street Fit 18 Years + @ 7:30 - 8:30pm

Classes will be based at Go Bananas - Unit 2 Towerhill Court, Greenfield Farm Estate. CW12 4TR.
