🌮🍽️ Today, our Level 2 Catering Team serve up some delicious, specially prepared foods from Mexican and South American!

On the menu:
* Chicken Mole: A rich, flavourful sauce that’s a true classic.
* Slow Cooked Beef Chilli with Black Beans
* Chicken Empanadas: a flavour bomb, with tender chicken
* Duck Carnitas Tacos: Tender duck, bursting with flavour!
* Fish Tacos: Fresh and zesty, a must-try!
* Churros with Warm Chocolate Sauce: A sweet finish to a fantastic meal.
The event was very well received by both staff and students.

Indian Cuisine Day
Our fantastic catering team offered another British Values event today celebrating Indian cuisine, highlighting inclusivity and the diversity of foods within Britain.
We had delights such as Goat Curry, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Dupiaza, Chicken Korma and Chickpea, Lentil and Spinach Dahl, as well as an array of wonderful side dishes.
The event was very well received by both staff and students.
Really well done to the team.

Good afternoon
Today, our catering department produced a fantastic array of Asian dishes.
The dishes were prepared by our Level 2 and Level 3 students under the supervision of our Asian Level 3 Pro Cookery student Kornnipa, who demonstrated Asian cooking techniques to her peers. Students and staff got to try dishes from Japan, Korea, Thailand, and China.
Well done to all involved.

Yesterday, two of our talented catering students competed in the AoC InterCollege Catering competition at Sunderland College.
We are delighted to announce that Samantha won first place in the Level 3 Filled Pasta Dish competition. She produced a fantastic crab and prawn saffron ravioli using locally picked wild garlic.
Mackenzie produced a delicious Northumberland lamb rump dish, just missing out on being placed. He did exceptionally well against very tough competition.
It was a really rewarding experience for both learners. Congratulations to them both!

It was a pleasure working with Consett Academy pupils yesterday, helping them prepare delicious canapés for their school Award Evening. They all did an amazing job. Chefs of the future!
