Dreaming of summer weddings, the weather has just been awful these last few weeks, who else is looking forward to the summer ahead?

** Christmas 2023 **
Who’s already feeling like they want to put their Christmas tree up? I love this time of year and the closeness of December and all things festive. It’s making me miss the creative buzz of planning my Christmas ranges….. sooooooo I’ve decided that for the Month of December Sara’s Kitchen will be bringing back all things sweet, from festive afternoon teas, grazing treat boxes, Rudolph cakes and of course your traditional fruit cakes! If you’d like to order, please check out our menu below.

We will be doing things ever so slightly different this year, offering this range for deliver on four dates in December, so if you’re planning a festive get together with friends or family, you can have a showstopper and delicious treats for your occasion.

Please note collection will be between 9am and 12noon on those days from my home in Lanchester, or Delivery is available to Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland postcodes for £3.95. Delivery will be during the morning, up to 12noon, if you are unable to be in, please instruct us of a safe place to leave your parcel.
Due to the nature of such large-scale orders, we are unable to give you the chance to select your treats, they will be picked at random from the list provided. Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for special diets during this busy time.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Biggs, married in the Durham Suite at today.

Andrew and Emma opted for a semi naked design, dressed with tje prettiest flowers from , which were also used to decorate out hoop stand.

Happy anniversary to the Millers! A throw back to a year ago! X

I've come here to write this post so many times, but just couldn't find the words. I want it to convey to much, I want it to be about love and positivity.

For the last 16 years Sara's Kitchen has been my life, I built it from scratch, with barely a pound to my name 😜 to the multi award winning business it is today. I've been able to get up for work every day, going to do something I truly love and that I feel incredibly passionate about. But the time has come to close the doors on this chapter of my life. With 17 weddings left, these will be my last.

There are so many people I would love to thank but this post would go on for ever. 16 years years is a long time and it means I've worked with the most phenomenal wedding industry here in the North East, from the little cake group we set up during covid (I love you guys!), to the amazing businesses and venues that have seen me at the crack of dawn setting up my creations. I will always be grateful for those cuppa's made, for a tired cake maker in the peak of wedding season! Thank you to all the venues who've supported little old me for years, who've recommended me and made it possible for me build Sara's Kitchen to what it is.

To my couples, where do I even begin, after all there's over 1200 of you!!! crikey!! During your consultations, I always tell my couples how honoured I feel to play a small part in your days and it's so true, to be there with you at the start of your next adventure, is something so incredibly special. I've gained so many friends from you over the years and Sara's Kitchen wouldn't be so full of love without you, thank you, for always trusting, for always believing and for supporting me.

To Sarah Thew Photography, who we've been lucky enough to share a studio with for the last few years. Myself and Janette, love you, Karen and the girls so much. Sorry for all the dodgy singing, dancing and maybe the odd swear! 😂

To my Wedding Guru Joanne Stott, you fill my life with so much love and joy, you were the person who believed in me, supported me and took me under your wings. I love you.

To my family and friends your support has been of the charts, from my sister Hannah, being queen of the Christmas cupcakes, my nieces for handing out the copious amounts of treat boxes during lock downs and my mum for believing in me. The friends who've shared my business and particularly who bought from me in those early days, when seriously I did not know what I was doing.... Thank You.

To Darran Kitchener, my hubby, best friend and chief 2am cup of tea maker. Your faith in me has never waived, your love and support is everything and I will be grateful for ever to have had you by my side. To Harrison and Freya, for putting up with wedding season stress, mucking in on those 6 wedding Saturdays and being the laughter in the heat of the kitchen!

Last but as you all know not least, goodness now here's where the tears really are flowing, my bestie and studio buddy Janette Noble Silver Birch Designs - Multi Award Winning Wedding Stationery, thank you for sharing the studio with me for the last 12 years of those 16. If the walls could talk, they'd tell everyone, what love filled that room, what laughter and tears they saw. I wouldn't have wanted to share the last 12 years with anyone else, we've laughed till we've cried, picked each other up at our worst and will forever be best friends, old and grey swigging from the wine bottle! I love you.

So if you've read to the end, thank you, I know it was an epic post! It's time for my life to have more family in it, more adventures with my Hubby Darran and my children Harrison and Freya. I'm so looking forward to what the future holds.

All that's left to say is lots of love to each and everyone of you, now and always.
