Score - CSK 222 / 4 in 15 overs, Bablake 150 / 4 in 15 Overs
Result - Coventry Super Kings won by 72 runs

Raj "The Ruler" makes it a Bab'y'Lake affair - Brilliant 134 runs by the opening batsman leaves Bablake CC clueless!

Bablake CC were made to feel as if they were drowning in the Baby Lake in Minnesota as Raj treated their bowling attack with disgrace. His brilliant knock of 134 runs comprised of 14 boundaries and 7 sixes and this was good to enough to state that it was a one man show. Sundar at the other end was plodding along at run a ball and these two had a brilliant partnership of 176 runs. Despite Sundar having a healthy strike rate of 110 it felt like nobody witnessed or considered his innings of 44 runs to be worthy, courtesy showstopper Raj.

The away team Coventry Super Kings made a mammoth total of 222 runs in 15 overs and surely this will go down somewhere in the record books as one of the highest totals made in 15 overs.

Bablake CC knew they simply had to complete the formalities of the game by batting in the second innings. They did that in great style scoring 150 runs which wasn't a bad outcome for them. Gikku was given an opportunity after a long wait this season and bowled a few smart deliveries. Nasir was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets as he bowled some toe crushing yorkers which were simply too good for the opposition.

Coventry Super Kings roared back to victory with a huge winning margin of 72 runs.

Result - CSK Won by 28 runs

Coventry Super Kings CC prick Warwick CC's hopes of remaining unbeaten in the league - Beat them handsomely by 28 runs!

CSK opened the batting being the away team and the opening pair who came off a 176 runs partnership did not contribute much this time around as Raj was caught at square leg in the first over of the game for 4 runs. Sundar and Bharat got things rolling before a jaffa got the better of the latter for 14 runs. Soon Sundar followed after he inside edged to a ball which kept low for 20 runs.

Sayed Zadran who made his debut for CSK was looking good before he smashed the ball straight to long on for 19 runs. There was huge responsibility on Sreekesh and Riaza to score some runs to put up a respectable target and they certainly did not disappoint as they took the opposition bowling to cleaners with some good hitting. Sreekesh remained unbeaten on 26 runs while Riaza was adjudged LBW for 31 runs. The first innings total put up by CSK was 152 runs on a pitch which had variable bounce.

A unique situation was witnessed where the opening batting duo started off the bowling proceedings as well and this time around they turned the fortunes in their favour as Raj bowled spin brilliantly conceding only 8 runs off his 24 deliveries bowled and dented the opposition's hopes by picking up 3 wickets. Sundar at the other end conceded only 17 runs from 24 balls.

Sreekesh and Riaza contributed with the ball as well conceding just over a run a ball and picked up 3 wickets amongst them. Kiru bowled a couple of overs conceding only 20 runs and Bharat picked up a wicket in his only over.

With this facile win CSK have made a strong come back into the tournament and they will certainly be a opposition feared by all.

Attle"Burrow" themselves with misery - Copsewood West Indian Wanderers beat them by 9 wickets!

It seemed the game was all over for Attleborough CC even before the game started as the away team won the toss and elected to bat in an attempt to save themselves from being sent on a leather hunt. Their wish turned out to be true as they were bundled out for 59 runs. Rana and Waseem opened the proceedings with the new ball and this bowling duo conceded 21 runs in the first 10 overs picking up 2 wickets. Sundar came in first change and picked up a wicket after conceding 24 runs in his 4 over spell.

The pick of the bowlers was Arunganesh who picked up a brilliant hatrick and picked up 5 wickets and conceded only 12 runs in his 5 overs. The opposition batsmen simply didn't have a clue to what they were facing. Aziz completed the last rites as he picked up a wicket in his second over.

Sivasankar Sakthivel the skipper of CWIW CC promoted himself to the top of the order along with Aziz and in an attempt to please the cameras the skipper was bowled for 3 runs. Rana who batted number for the first time in his playing career played a magnificent knock of unbeaten 37 which comprised of 5 boundaries and a huge six over covers. Aziz too batted well for his unbeaten knock of 16 which comprised of a boundary and a six.

With this win Copsewood West Indian Wanderers continue their unbeaten run and just like the previous week history repeated itself again with all 3 teams from Copsewood notching up impressive victories to enlighten the club's reputation to greater heights.

"ROCK"esh punctures Peugeot CC wheels - Brilliant century by the No.4 ensures Coventry West Indian Wanderers CC keep their winning momentum intact!

A green pitch it was in the derby encounter between the sides as CWIW CC who play just across a couple of roads away were put into bat. The home side Peugeot CC who completely revamped their side bringing in new additions looked to pick up early wickets, however it was not their bowling which got the first wicket. Sundar looked to nudge the ball and ran a quick single only to see his opening partner being run out for 7 runs. In came Harris who stitched a 40 runs worthy partnership with Sundar before the latter was caught behind for 20 runs.

The stage was set for Rakesh to play a big innings which is usually expected of him. He certainly didn't disappoint as his classy unbeaten knock of 107 runs which included 11 boundaries ensured CWIW CC posted a strong total.

Rakesh was also helped by some useful contributions from Harris ( 29 ), Sreekesh ( 35 ) and Bharat ( 37 ) who played significant roles in putting up a total of 302 runs.

Chasing a mammoth target of 303 runs barring one partnership of 87 runs in the middle Peugeot CC were never in the hunt as regular wickets throughout the course of the game ensured their downfall. Sreekesh bowled well to pick up 3 wickets along with Kiru and Rana who picked up a couple of wickets apiece while the remaining bowlers bowled some tight tines which restricted the batsmen from playing the big shots.

Peugeot CC were eventually all out for 214 runs and this meant Coventry West Indian Wanderers CC won the game by 88 runs.

Rakesh becomes the first centurion from the first team this season and to add to this glory all 3 teams from Coventry West Indian Wanderers CC scored facile smashing victories against their opponents which is a big feather in the cap for the club and will be long remembered.

Covid and Flood Relief Fund 2021 - Update

Thank you all for the generous donations towards covid and flood relief fund. We managed to collect £1463 pounds in few days (INR 1,50,000 - one and half lakh rupees). The total fund has been sent to Souhrida Womens club towards Covid and Flood relief activities. More than 100 families have been given Food Parcels and several other Relief activities carried out by volunteers 👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
