We know we've not been able to deliver our Create Student Awards ceremony in the same way this year, but we couldn't let your inspiring work pass by unnoticed. So...we're taking the celebrations online!

Joy Division formed in Salford 1976. Bassist Peter Hook was awarded an honorary graduate award from us in 2018. Peter spent many nights in our Student Union, he was also involved in gigs at our Maxwell Hall.

Mancunian musician and honorary graduate Aziz Ibrahim worked on many albums with Ian Brown. He is also well known for his work with Paul Weller, The Stone Roses and Simply Red. Aziz received his honorary award from us in 2019. Ian Brown and The Stone Roses are also considered pioneers of Madchester music, still inspiring many artists and bands we hear today.
