💡 A gentle reminder this week
If you miss an energy bill payment, your energy supplier won't disconnect your supply. But if you don't top-up your prepayment meter, your supply might still stop.
If you're finding it hard to afford your energy bills, there are several things you can do https://bit.ly/3EzTgUc
The £324 cost of living payments has already started for more than 8m households.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has started giving over eight million households the second part of the £650 cost of living payment. Payments for £324 will land in bank accounts between November 8 and 23, for most eligible claimants and some people have already received confirmation text messages from DWP.
People claiming Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits - with no other means-tested benefit - will receive the money between November 23 and 30. Nobody needs to apply for these payments as they will be made automatically if you are eligible and meet the requirements of the qualifying period.

Save money and dry clothes quicker with a heated clothes airer.
One of the most sought-after appliances this winter (alongside air fryers and dehumidifers) is the heated clothes airer, which is designed to gently warm damp laundry to speed up drying times.
Heated clothes airers are cheaper to run than a traditional tumble dryer, with some costing as little as 3p an hour to operate, so it’s a sensible way to make savings where they count when drying small amounts of clothes.
However, tumble dryers may still be more cost-effective when drying larger loads frequently, as they often have a larger capacity.

On benefits? You may be due cheap, long-term 'social tariffs' for broadband.
Millions of people on benefits are missing out on cheaper broadband tariffs because firms are failing to promote them properly, the media watchdog Ofcom has said.
Social tariffs are low-cost broadband deals offered to customers on benefits and cost about £15 a month.
The average customer could save £140 a year by switching to one of these deals.
All of those in receipt of Universal Credit are eligible, although some providers extend eligibility to those in receipt of other benefits, such as Pension Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Jobseeker's Allowance and Income Support.
