Most people think gardens in winter are dull with not a lot happening, but you if you close enough you'll find the beauty in it. There's still colour in the gardens and some amazing foliage. (And yes the Aster should definitely not be out now!)
Glad to get the last of the stones down today and planted a Nandina which are great for shaded areas and autumn colour. Now to plant some more Hosta's and a Daphne to complete the area 👨🌾
Thank you for the opportunity to help tidy up the Memorial Garden at St Leonards Church in Turners Hill. Hopefully it stays nice and clear until the spring.
One of my favourite job to do is tree planting. This week I planted 3 trees + some lovely Camellias in one of my customers garden.
🌳 Royal Raindrop Crabapple
🌳 Prunus Chocolate Ice (Cherry)
🌳 Betula Jacquemontii (Himalayan Birch)
This weekends job in the rain, glad to get it all tidy for the winter. Thanks for the help Brad!
Two small flower meadows cut down as well as a quick trim on the hedge. Wild flower meadows thrive off poor soil conditions. At the end of each growing season you cut it down and remove the waste, not allowing all the cuttings to break down back into the soil. Over time the soil will become poor improving the competition for wild flower.
5 tonn bags later and this Laurels, Conifer and Rhododendron hedge is all done. Looking good for another year 👨🌾
Last cut of the year for these two big hedges, looking nice and neat 👨🌾
One of three Conifer hedges done this weekend. Looking much better and won't need doing for another year 👨🌾
